It doesn’t matter if you receive a check from the government or not. It doesn’t matter if you pay Federal income taxes or not. The question is do you believe you have a right to stick your hand into someone else’s wallet—to take what they earned? You do not have to pay taxes to know the answer. Those of us getting a check (hello Social Security; Medicare) have no trouble with moral clarity either. Perhaps you have heard some news about a Governor Romney campaign blunder. But Romney said nothing that besmirched his own character or that of any particular individual who receives a government check.
