What did Romney say?

CBS NEWS: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney broke with many in his party on Friday when he said he believes humans have contributed to global warming.

“I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that,” said at a New Hampshire town hall meeting, according to Reuters. . .

Romney reportedly said Friday that he believed the United States as well as foreign nations need to “reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases,” saying they “may be significant contributors” to climate change.  

Then CBS threw in the Obamedia “climate change” boilerplate lie:

There is widespread consensus within the scientific community that the earth warming and that human beings are at least partially responsible. But many Republicans dispute that conclusion . . .

To claim consensus requires redefining the “scientific Community.” The massive work of the Heartland Institute is by itself enough to settle the issue that lil’ ol’ man cannot control the 4th of July in New York one single time.

By Tuesday the CBS story was in dozens of news outlets across the country. The climate change fraud is the primary tool to smother your freedom—the freedom of every American and permanent poverty across the world. This issue is at the core of our National discussion through the 2012 election. We must have Republican candidates running in every State and Federal race who gives full throat to putting America first in Oil production; Drill Baby Drill! It is unthinkable Republicans could try that with Mitt Romney leading. Mitt Romney must be stopped. We picked up world championship power Tuesday when the first charter member of our Restoring America Team, Rush Limbaugh, weighed in: 

Last Friday in Manchester, New Hampshire, at the University of New Hampshire, Romney held a town hall meeting, and during the Q&A somebody stood up and said, “Nearly all the other candidates suggest that there is no scientific consensus on climate change. Some insist that it’s not even occurring! We can’t have a meaningful discussion about solutions until there’s agreement about the problem. Will you, sir, state now that under a Romney administration, global warming will be accepted as reality, and this reality will form the foundation for all climate and energy policy?” and here’s what Romney said…

ROMNEY: I believe the world is getting warmer. I can’t prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer — and — and number two, I believe that humans contribute to that. I don’t know how much our contribution is to that ’cause I know there’s been — there have been periods of — of greater heat and — and warmth in the past, but I believe that we contribute to that, and so I think it’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may well be significant contributors to the climate change and the global warming that you’re seeing.

RUSH: Bye-bye, nomination. Bye-bye nomination. Another one down.

We’re in the midst here of discovering that this is all a hoax. The last year has established that the whole premise of manmade global warming is a hoax, and we still have presidential candidates who want to buy into it! Why? ‘Cause in New Hampshire they obviously care about it. So you go to Iowa say and you say, “Hey, by the way, I’m all for ethanol subsidies.” Then you go to the Florida and say, “Hey, you seasoned citizens, I’m all for never-ending Social Security!” Wherever you go, whatever they care about there is what you’re for. I saw this… I couldn’t believe this when I saw it. People in New Hampshire for some cockamamie reason want to believe in global warming. There was snow on the summit of Hawaii’s biggest mountain, Mauna Kea, after a thunderstorm dropped inches of ice this morning —In Hawaii!

Remember, in the wake of the fraudulent and stolen election in Iran, the people rose up, peacefully demonstrating; calling for honest elections. They had every right to expect moral support from the United States. Obama reacted as I expected: he stood with the Ayatollahs and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. You will recall many who stood for honesty in the election and freedom were killed, imprisoned and, if female, raped. For me and many, a young woman, just 16, became a symbol for Liberty that transcended Iran. Her name was, Neda Agha Soltan. My friend, Amil Imani has an image of a bronze bust of Neda titled “Angel of Freedom” at his Web Site,  Freedom of Iran.

She was the inspiration for the title of these messages, DAILY CALL. Here is what I wrote in June of 2009: 

Liberty lives. Perhaps many American voters slept. The Obama Administration does not speak of Liberty. But Liberty is the Light that, according to Lincoln, was the essence of America’s conception. That light of Liberty burns today in America and in hearts across the world. Today it has a face. The face of an innocent sweet 16 year old who stood up against tyranny and for Liberty and was murdered by the instruments of the tyrants. Perhaps she was born for this purpose. Take a look.

When I first visited Gettysburg years ago, I was overwhelmed with the sense of sacrifice made to secure our union, but my most recent visit this morning was even more significant as subsequent visits allow reflection on the state of our union today. Striking to me is how ready and willing troops and civilians were in 1863 to lay their lives on the line. Are we as ready and willing to accept the call for sacrifice today in order to keep our union secure?

Hopefully the kids on school field trips whom we met this morning grasped the poignant irony at the site we toured together: that such a beautiful stretch of the Pennsylvania countryside should have been the site of the bloodiest battle in the Civil War. But perhaps it’s fitting that such a sacred place should be so beautiful now in order to commemorate the terrible sacrifices made to bring about, in the words of Lincoln’s famous address, “a new birth of freedom.”

But this “new birth of freedom” wasn’t fully realized by the generation that paid the price for it. Over 100 years after the battle, Martin Luther King, Jr. stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and declared, “Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God’s children.” It took the struggle for Civil Rights to truly complete what Lincoln called “the unfinished work” for which the heroes of Gettysburg “gave the last full measure of devotion.”

Today, when we speak of “fundamentally restoring all that is good in America,” we remember the debt of gratitude we owe to those who sacrificed to create and preserve our union. From the Civil War to the struggle for Civil Rights, generations of Americans have made great sacrifices necessary to pass on to us this great gift of freedom. It’s our duty to them to preserve it, cherish it, and pass it on to our children, so “that these dead shall not have died in vain…and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

When duty calls, are we willing to answer today? Please remember that freedom isn’t free – the price paid for our liberty has been great.

The reminders of the past costs are seen at Gettysburg. The way forward in protecting our unified body is encapsulated in Lincoln’s 2nd inaugural address: “…with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds.”

GUNFIGHT AT D.C. CORRAL: PALIN vs OBAMA

I’m sorry guys. Every time you flood me with emails attempting to convince me Palin can not win; is too toxic, not smart enough, a hypocrite and is only in it for the money, the courageous woman boldly does another extraordinary interview that makes me stand up and cheer, “Sarah Palin, you go girl! I love you!”

Nothing frustrates me more than GOP candidates walking on eggs cautious not to offend or anger the despicable, lying, agenda driven and evil liberal media. Why should we show respect for characterless people who are committed to lying and putting a negative spin on everything we say and do? The liberal media’s mission is to politically “kill” the tea party. Get it?

Sarah Palin gets it. Palin does not give a rat’s behind about what the liberal media thinks of her.

On numerous occasions, without the slightest hint of reservation or FEAR, Palin has attacked Obama “the man”; his lies, his anti-American associations, his socialist agenda, his assault on our freedom, liberty and culture and his horrific record, thus far. Thank You Sarah Palin! God bless you!

I realize I sound like a broken record, but I can not express the following point strongly enough. To beat Obama and “his media” in 2012, our candidate MUST embrace Palin’s aggressive fearless battle plan.

It has been said, only a fool brings a knife to a gunfight. Without restraint or mercy, Obama, the democrats and Obama’s liberal media gang will show up at the 2012 DC fight for the White House with mega guns firing at the tea party and the republican presidential candidate.

Any republican presidential candidate who is timid due to the historical context of Obama’s presidency saying, “God bless Obama’s heart. He meant well, but his policies have failed” is like entering this crucial battle for our country with a butter knife. Such a restrained effort would insure political death to our side and the end of America as we know it.

Patriots, we need a fearless political gunslinging hero. And so far, our heroic pistol packin’ mama is Sarah Palin.

LIBERAL vs CONSERVATIVE: A SPIRITUAL BATTLE

Without beating around the bush, I believe the battle being fought in America today goes beyond politics; right vs. left. It is a spiritual battle; good vs evil.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12

The mindset of the American left is a spirit of Antichrist which is man making himself God.

Before writing me off as a Bible nut, please hear me out. Understanding this reality will explain much of the left’s behavior. Because they believe man is God, in their insane arrogance, the left think they can fix everything; legislate equal outcomes and even save or destroy the planet.

Make no mistake about it folks, we are in a spiritual battle. Ask yourself. Specifically, what about Sarah Palin inspires such visceral hatred from the left? The word is “wholesome.”

For the most part, Palin promotes love for God, family and country. She is passionately determined to thwart Obama’s plan to “fundamentally transformed America.”

While realizing Palin is human and does not walk on water, Palin epitomizes heartland principles and values embraced by most Americans. Thus, we are Palin and Palin is us.

The large number of Christians in the Tea Party believe in right and wrong. The left has a huge problem with the concept of right and wrong. Their religion of liberalism embraces Moral Relativism.

For these reasons, Palin and Tea Party are as repulsive to liberals as showing Dracula the cross.

There is definitely an anti-wholesome, anti-goodness vibe coming out of Hollywood. Hollywood leftists are vehemently anti-death penalty. They rally around convicted murderers. These Hollywood libs pride themselves as being Lords of Compassion and Tolerance.

And yet, these same libs have a cow whenever someone merely suggests to a woman that she think twice before aborting her baby. Tell me there ain’t something spiritually wrong with such a mindset.

Because liberal elitists think man is God, they assume moral authority to confiscate as much control over our lives as we simple-minded god-fearing peons will allow them, including procreation. I picked up a government-funded brochure at my local library which basically said birthing babies is an irresponsible abuse of the planet.

Folks, this is leftist control-freak hogwash! The seven billion people who live on the planet could fit in Texas enjoying about the same amount of living space as residents of New York. God said be fruitful and multiply. But then, what the heck does God know?

In her book Godless, Ann Coulter said, “If a Martian landed in America and set out to determine the nation’s official state religion, he would have to conclude it is Liberalism, while Christianity and Judaism are prohibited by law.”

I concur with Ms. Coulter. The mainstream media is controlled by zealots of liberalism who I believe are driven by a spirit of Antichrist; man is God. Thus, only man can and will fix everything.

Why does the left aggressively demand that we show utmost respect for every religion under the sun except Christianity? Remember when libs Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar stormed off the set of The View TV program when they concluded Bill O’Reilly discussed the world’s Muslim problem?

And yet, Rosie O’Donnell outrageously stated “Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America.” Not one peep of disagreement or disapproval from the left.

Islam suppresses women. And yet, liberal self-proclaimed feminists Goldberg, Behar, and O’Donnell illogically defend Islam. These three feminists despise the extraordinarily successful Christian liberated woman, Sarah Palin. Rosie O’Donnell even lamented that Osama bin Laden did not get a fair trial.

These women would seem to have issues with America and Christians; a spirit of Antichrist. At the center of Christianity is a divine Jesus. If Jesus is God, the left is not.

Even our most liberal president ever, Obama, dissed heartland Americans for bitterly clinging to their god and guns. Would a true Christian berate folks for finding security in trusting God?

Like an episode of Star Trek, the left believes universal peace can be achieved via America apologizing and admitting to the world that we suck, surrendering our power, signing treaties and singing a few verses of Kumbaya.

They believe the greatest source of evil in the world is warmongering Christian white guys like George Bush. If only Bush had “Given peace a chance.”

Liberals always cater to man’s lowest base instincts. They hate standards for behavior, labeling all rebuke of bad behavior as being intolerant and judgmental. And yet, they believe without divine influence, man is capable of someday achieving universal peace. Totally absurd.

Christians believe that though we strive to do the right thing, the heart of man is critically flawed which is why we were in need of a savior, Jesus Christ.

Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform America” is a spiritual attack on our freedom, liberty, and culture.

Despite the left’s relentless attempts to ban God from America’s public square, the emergence and power of the Tea Party tells me God is still on our side.

Mr. Obama, though your liberal zealots perceive you to be “the messiah,” God is still on the throne. Come November 2012, you’re fired!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FUNDAMENTALLY RESTORE AMERICA?

Governor Palin Used the Phrase, “Fundamentally Restore America,” Several Times on the First Leg of the ONE NATION Tour. What Does It Mean?

I am among the many contending for the restoration of Constitutional government, America and Liberty itself. Now Governor Palin, with her phrase, “fundamentally restore America,” declared direct opposition to the forces led by President Obama. Their purpose is, in Obama’s words, “to fundamentally transform America.” What do these words mean?  

Fundamentally: (a top 10 MW dictionary lookup) the essence of; in the heart of

Transform: To change in condition, nature, character, to convert; to change into another substance—transmute

Restore: To reestablish or to bring back into an original condition.

Get it? Obama wants to change the very nature, character, and substance of America in her essence or her heart. But that change has been going on for generations. President Obama gave words to what he clearly sees as a transformational end to the process. Besides challenging President Obama directly, Governor Palin is agreeing America has drifted fundamentally away from her essence, her nature and her heart.

Let’s look at that fundamental American nature. The quickest way to summarize is through the words of Lincoln:

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

This is the essence of America—this is her heart! Lincoln used his words precisely. He didn’t see the countries fathers as founders, he saw them as midwives. Jefferson’s words and Franklin and Adam’s political persuasion were the hot water and clean towels for the birth of the nation they were receiving. Wow! America is given by God. Her endowment—her DNA —is Liberty. Americans are not only equal before the Law, Americans are equal before the law.

The God of the Holy Bible who founded Israel for His purposes also founded America for His purposes. It is no accident America’s fathers; more than 90% committed Christians, sought two principal sources, the Holy Bible and John Locke who, himself, relied on the Bible. Though the New Testament (Christian) was central to governing their lives, it is the Old Testament (Hebrew) that gave them direction in forming the governments.

The obvious reference is Leviticus 25:10: Proclaim liberty throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants thereof. —Engraved on the Liberty Bell. But let’s find that deeper essence—that DNA. Travel with me to the New Testament time of Jesus Christ—to Matthew 22:36-40:

“. . . Master, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said unto him, “`Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it: `Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Jesus did just what we, Christian or Jew must do; go the source —Scripture. The first great commandment is the heart of the Jewish (Hebrew) Shema Deuteronomy 6:5 and the second great commandment is Leviticus 19:18b. We cannot avoid this American essence. It is the very heart of what we are fundamentally restoring.

Jesus said the Law (God’s top 10) hangs on those two. But it is clear Americans have been led away from God’s top 10 which leads America, herself, away from her character. Let’s briefly examine two, Thou shalt not steal and thou shalt not covet. When “We the People” have the power, big government can only be built on a cultural shift towards covetousness and a willingness to justify “old Uncle Sam” taking our neighbors property for our benefit. Americans must see this for what it is —only “a trap for wild hogs.”

Those Americans who succumb to that “free Obama money” in the end trade away their character, their honor and their very souls. Those two great commandments are the ground we must stand on as we, standing between the “hogs and the trough,” fundamentally restore America. 

There is no doubt; America is the fount of Liberty and human equality in the world. And there is no doubt; those committed to “fundamentally transform” America are committed to the opposite. In so many ways, we are far down that road. Today, let us pick up Governor Palin’s call to fundamentally restore America.

A SERIOUS LOOK AT ISRAEL’S FUTURE THEN WITH THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION, ANDREW KLAVAN

How Much Time Does Israel Have?

First, here is a quick review of event just 10 days past. In my post on the master statesman speech by Prime Minister Netanyahu to the Congress May 24th, I hit this bright note:

His address to the Congress Tuesday was, to understate, inspired—the capstone of a game-changing week. The Prime Minister changed the terms of the Palestinian discussion—and more. It should be a required lesson for every Arab in the Middle East and North Africa; for every American on our endowment and for every Nation on Israel and 4 thousand years of Jewish history. Here is a mind clearing example:

“Of the 300 million Arabs in the Middle East and North Africa, only Israel’s Arab citizens enjoy real democratic rights. Now, I want you to stop for a second and think about that. Of those 300 million Arabs, less than one-half of 1 percent are truly free and they’re all citizens of Israel. This startling fact reveals a basic truth: Israel is not what is wrong with about the Middle East; Israel is what is right about the Middle East.”

I called it a “game changer.” It did change the game of dialogue between Washington and Jerusalem concerning a settlement of the “Palestinian question.” But it did not change the reality that the “Arab Spring” is a paradox of a cold darkness in a world ablaze. It did not change the united determination of 56 Muslim countries to destroy Israel. It did not change the Obama Regime’s antagonism towards Israel and a “In our eyes you can do no wrong,” policy towards Islam. Time is undoubtedly very short for Israel. This reality should compel us to double our efforts to defeat Obama, end Harry Reid’s power and build our power in the House of Representatives.

I believe the solution to the Palestinian problem is to give Jordan up to 10 years to absorb the (non-Isreali citizen) Palestinians as Jordanian citizens. Let the Jordan River be the boundary between Israel and the new Palestinian Jordan. Andrew Klavan has another view. As we all can see, of some 19 countries, Freedom House found three (yellow) countries with some relief from total oppression and just one country in the free (green) category, Israel. In fact, Freedom House ranks Israel the 13th most free county in 2011. Do not leave for another 3 minutes!

What a wonderful opportunity for any family see the spot of the engagement that crystallized independence in the minds of Boston patriots. Not every family can make it. Fortunately, the Obamedia is all tagging along with the One Nation tour. Not surprisingly, they found the Palins in violation of the law according to the Politico. You’ll have the most fun if you view the “issue” through the Rush filter.

 

Okay, when we come back, I’ll give you a little heads-up on this Politico story. “Palin’s Tour a Rolling Menace,” is the headline.

Politico. And, by the way, I think the author of the story is a woman, Kasie Hunt, probably how a woman would spell it. I don’t know anymore, frankly. These days of NOCIRC, who can tell.

“Sarah Palin’s bus is plastered with a mock-up of the U.S. Constitution. But her entourage — both the three-vehicle motorcade that includes the bus and the smaller, two-SUV version she uses for smaller events — hasn’t been very respectful of traffic laws. They speed. They run red lights and stop signs. They make last-second lane changes to get off the highway, sometimes without signaling.” I am not making up a word of this. This is The Politico. “So do the reporters following them. Journalists in the caravan trailing her ‘One Nation’ tour bus describe the experience as harrowing, a rolling menace careening up the East Coast in hot pursuit of the former Alaska governor who declined to provide any advance itinerary of her tour over six days on the road.

“As they left the clambake she attended Thursday in New Hampshire, Palin’s two-SUV caravan traveled at 52 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone as it peeled away from the hosts’ neighborhood. Both cars blew through a stop sign about a mile later. They did 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-95 — and then, after they got off, without signaling, flew right past a flashing sign informing them they were going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone. And that was after they had already stormed the major cities — and just missed driving through a tornado on the road into Boston.”

Chickification of the news, anybody? Here is the closing paragraph: “The reporters who are speeding, tailgating, cutting off other cars, blasting through roundabouts and passing on the right in an effort to keep up, say they have no other choice since they never know what Palin’s up to or where she’s headed — and aides typically won’t tell them anything. Once they’re on the road, they’re filing urgent updates by phone and figuring out unorthodox bathroom breaks, like the reporter who pulled over to relieve himself on the side of the highway going from Gettysburg, Pa., to Philadelphia — drawing notice from both Palin aides and the rest of the trailing press.”

This is hilarious what she’s done to ’em. This is the vaunted Politico. Some editor read this and said, “Yep, go ahead, post it.” You have Obama subverting the War Powers Act, and we get a treatise, a term paper on Palin flouting the traffic laws: “Palin’s Tour a Rolling Menace.” They can’t stand it. You know what really bugs ’em? The same thing that bugs them about me. They didn’t make her; they can’t destroy her. The press did not make me. I’m not the result of media buzz. I’m not the result of the media telling everybody I was hot stuff, and she isn’t, either. She is where she is despite the media trying to destroy her. They can’t because they didn’t make her. This is what they don’t understand. And the fact that they can’t. (Finish it)

This is the second half of a Rush roll that started with (you’ll laugh out loud) this insight:

RUSH: Yeah. You know, this is probably a good way to put this. The media, for two years has been trying to Palinize Palin — they’ve been trying to destroy her — and what’s happening here is she’s turning the tables on them and she’s Palinizing them, and the Republican Ruling Class is furious. The Republican Ruling Class is furious that Palin, going to all these states on her bus tour, is not coordinating with local Republican organizations, and there’s saying, “This ain’t cool! This is not cool, because if she turns out to be running she doesn’t need to be making enemies out of all these people.” But there’s another way to look at that, and that is: She’s not following a losing script.

It’s fascinating to watch this Palin stuff. They hate her, they despise her, they are frustrated that they haven’t destroyed her. They can’t believe she’s still smiling. They can’t believe she’s still drawing crowds. They can’t believe that she’s enjoying life. They can’t believe her family is still together. They can’t believe her husband hasn’t walked out on her. They can’t believe any of this. Folks, you know this as well as I do: When they set out to destroy you, they mean just that — and Palin’s not playing along with the script. She’s not acting destroyed. She’s not asking for forgiveness. She’s not begging them to leave her alone. She’s not changing in order to make them lighten up or anything. She’s just looking at ’em and smiling.

“Oh, you want some more of it? Here it is,” and they’re beside themselves. They are literally beside themselves. Now, there are two kinds of people in the world: Those who understand Sarah Palin and those who pretend they don’t. Ah, yes! (interruption) Yes, Snerdley. They’re complaining, they’re whining, they’re moaning, “She’s so unprofessional! She’s not telling us where she’s going. We’re having to get involved in road races following her bus! Everybody’s endangered on the highway.” Oh, so you’re finally having to do a little work? Somebody’s not doing your job for you? Somebody’s not telling you where they’re gonna be, huh? You sit around, you expect everybody to tell you where they’re gonna be so you can show up on your good time.” Whatever happened to pounding the beat? Perhaps you do not know Geert Wilders. You must change that today. Here is a BBC Profile of Geert Wilders:

Geert Wilders, the prominent Dutch politician being prosecuted for hate speech over his campaign against Islam in public life, is a deeply divisive figure.

On the one hand, he has antagonised the Muslim world by calling for a ban on the Koran, which he likened to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

On the other, he was voted politician of the year in 2007 by the Dutch political press, partly because of his “well-timed one-liners”.

If his views on Islam are inflammatory, his other opinions sit in the Dutch libertarian tradition, and he argues that he is only “intolerant of the intolerant”.

Instantly recognisable for his mane of platinum blond hair, which earned him the nickname “Mozart”, he is a charismatic leader.

His Freedom Party went from winning nine seats in the 2006 election to 24 in 2010, taking a bigger share of the vote than the Christian Democrats – the main party in the outgoing coalition.

Days before his hate speech trial was due to open in Amsterdam, he was playing the role of kingmaker in Dutch politics.

Silence Is Treason

Mister President, members of the Court,

I am here because of what I have said. I am here for having spoken. I have spoken, I speak and I shall continue to speak. Many have kept silent, but not Pim Fortuyn, not Theo Van Gogh, and not I.

I am obliged to speak. For the Netherlands is under threat of Islam. As I have argued many times, Islam is chiefly an ideology. An ideologyof hatred, of destruction, of conquest. It is my strong conviction that Islam is a threat to Western values, to freedom of speech, to the equality of men and women, of heterosexuals and homosexuals, of believers and unbelievers.

All over the world we can see how freedom is fleeing from Islam. Day by day we see our freedoms dwindle.

Islam is opposed to freedom. Renowned scholars of Islam from all parts of the world agree on this. My witness experts subscribe to my view. There are more Islam scholars whom the court did not allow me to call upon to testify. All agree with my statements, they show that I speak the truth. That truth is on trial today.

We must live in the truth, said the dissidents under Communist rule, because the truth will set us free. Truth and freedom are inextricably connected. We must speak the truth because otherwise we shall lose our freedom.

That is why I have spoken, why I speak and why I shall continue to speak.

The statements for which I am being tried are statements which I made in my function as a politician participating in the public debate in our society. My statements were not aimed at individuals, but at Islam and the process of islamization. That is why the Public Prosecutor has concluded that I should be acquitted.

Mister President, members of the Court,

I am acting within a long tradition which I wish to honour. I am risking my life in defence of freedom in the Netherlands. Of all our achievements freedom is the most precious and the most vulnerable. Many have given their lives for freedom. We have been reminded of that in the commemorations of the month of May. But the struggle for freedom is much older.

Every day the armoured cars drive me past the statue of Johan de Witt at the Hofvijver in The Hague. De Witt wrote the “Manifesto of True Freedom” and he paid for freedom with his life. Every day I go to my office through the Binnenhof where Johan van Oldenbarneveldt was beheaded after a political trial. Leaning on his stick the elderly Oldenbarneveldt addressed his last words to his people. He said: “I have acted honourably and piously as a good patriot.” Those words are also mine.

I do not wish to betray the trust of the 1.5 million voters of my party. I do not wish to betray my country. Inspired by Johan van Oldenbarneveldt and Johan de Witt I wish to be a politician who serves the truth end hence defends the freedom of the Dutch provinces and of the Dutch people. I wish to be honest, I wish to act with honesty and that is why I wish to protect my native land against Islam. Silence is treason.

That is why I have spoken, why I speak and why I shall continue to speak.

Freedom and truth. I pay the price every day. Day and night I have to be protected against people who want to kill me. I am not complaining about it; it has been my own decision to speak. However, those who threaten me and other critics of Islam are not being tried here today. I am being tried. And about that I do complain.

I consider this trial to be a political trial. The values of D66 [a Dutch leftist liberal party] and NRC Handelsblad [a Dutch leftist liberal party] will never be brought before a judge in this country. One of the complainants clearly indicated that his intentions are political. Even questions I have asked in parliament and cooperation with the SGP are being brought as allegations against me by Mr Rabbae of GroenLinks [the leftist Dutch Green Party]. Those on the Left like to tamper with the separation of powers. When they cannot win politically because the Dutch people have discerned their sinister agenda, they try to win through the courts.

Whatever your verdict may be, that is the bitter conclusion of this trial.

This trial is also surrealistic. I am being compared with the Hutu murderers in Rwanda and with Mladic. Only a few minutes ago some here have doubted my mental health. I have been called a new Hitler. I wonder whether those who call me such names will also be sued, and if not, whether the Court will also order prosecution. Probably not. And that is just as well. Because freedom of speech applies also to my opponents.

My right to a fair trial has been violated. The order of the Amsterdam Court to prosecute me was not just a decision but a condemning verdict by judges who condemned me even before the actual trial had begun.

Mister President, members of the Court, you must now decide whether freedom still has a home in the Netherlands

Franz Kafka said: “one sees the sun slowly set, yet one is surprised when it suddenly becomes dark.”

Mister President, members of the Court, do not let the lights go out in the Netherlands.

Acquit me: Put an end to this Kafkaesque situation.

Acquit me. Political freedom requires that citizens and their elected representatives are allowed to voice opinions that are held in society.

Acquit me, for if I am convicted, you convict the freedom of opinion and expression of millions of Dutchmen.

Acquit me. I do not incite to hatred. I do not incite to discrimination. But I defend the character, the identity, the culture and the freedom of the Netherlands. That is the truth. That is why I am here. That is why I speak. That is why, like Luther before the Imperial Diet at Worms, I say: “Here I stand, I can do no other.”

That is why I have spoken, why I speak and why I shall continue to speak.

Mister President, members of the Court, though I stand here alone, my voice is the voice of many. This trial is not about me. It is about something much greater. Freedom of expression is the life source of our Western Civilization.

Do not let that source go dry just to cozy up to a totalitarian regime. “Freedom,” said the American President Dwight Eisenhower, “has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed – else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.”

Mister President, members of the Court, you have a great responsibility. Do not cut freedom in the Netherlands from its roots, our freedom of expression. Acquit me. Choose freedom.

I have spoken, I speak, and it is my duty – I cannot do otherwise – to continue to speak.

The “One Nation” tour brought attention to the invaluable contribution to America’s greatness by those, from so many countries and backgrounds, who came through Ellis Island a century ago. I have two grandparents who came through in the 1890’s. This is a picture of the immigration facility from that era:

TO RESTORE AMERICA: START BY SHAKIN’ ‘EM UP

The One Nation Tour to Fundamentally Restore America Roared into Action Sunday Participating in the 24th Annual Rolling Thunder Ride in Washington D.C.

Sarah Palin, First Dude and family ended May on the first leg of “One Nation” as they rolled through Pennsylvania on their way to the Big Apple. Enjoy this third day of the first leg.

“Proclaim Liberty throughout All the land unto All the inhabitants Thereof”

Palin plays her hand masterfully; Lets Trump talk.

So, what do you know? Rolling Thunder,the National Archives, Washington’s home at Mount Vernon, Gettysburg Battlefield and Cemetery, Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, and a stop for an exchange of views with Donald Trump, including dinner, in the first three days. Some say Governor Palin is not running for President. Whether she is or is not running, isn’t the One Nation tour an outstanding way to focus all of us on the task at hand, to restore America?

What’s more, without saying a word, Governor Palin rendered David Brooks even more irrelevant and exposed George Will as even more insufferable than any of us supposed. This fundamentally restoring America is proving more fun than any could have predicted. Let’s tag along.
