I downloaded the Whitehouse pdf file with the “Certificate of Live Birth” Wednesday. What I got was not comforting. This is a screen clip of my pdf:

I cut and pasted the “Certificate” to Word. These two clips are what appeared on Word:

The questions raised here need answers. I’ll need help from my pro, using  Photoshop—perhaps Thursday (yesterday). Then Wednesday night I found Pamela Geller had gathered experts at Atlas:

UPDATE Doug Welch tells me, “it is not a forgery. It is scanned using OCR that adds layers to a scanned document. Anyone that works with OCR scanners knows this.”

UPDATE: Atlas reader Jeff responds to Welch:

If it was scanned using OCR then the layers would have searchable text.  They do not.  The different objects are images and not text.  Doug should maybe get a little better acquainted with OCR technology.

Late Thursday the Publisher of the American Thinker, Thomas Lifson, wrote

2009 Report: Hawaii Health Department went paperless, discarded documents

In the words of Lewis Carroll, it gets curioser and curiouser. According to this report, back when Lou Dobbs (then a CNN host) began to raise questions about Obama’s birth, CNN president Jon Klein had his researchers contact the Hawaii Department of Health to inquire as to the records. TV Newser reproduced the letter in a post dated July 24, 2009:

Sent: Thu Jul 23 19:00:44 2009
Subject: Important re birth certificate

I asked the political researchers to dig into the question “why couldn’t Obama produce the ORIGINAL birth certificate?”

This is what they forwarded. It seems to definitively answer the question. Since the show’s mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite. And then it seems this story is dead – because anyone who still is not convinced doesn’t really have a legitimate beef.
