PERFORMING ARTS AT SAINT AGNES—A SCHOOL WITH GOD NOT GOVERNMENT

This Blog is not about me, Richard Johnson. But we are looking here at forms of elementary/secondary education with God; not government. I have grandchildren experiencing educations with God; not government. One such experience is at Saint Agnes School (Catholic), St Paul, MN. I attended a performance of the 2012 spring musical, Hello Dolly, Saturday night to watch a grandson, Joe Lindgren perform.

Like government schools, the ticket prices did not come close to covering the production costs. Unlike government schools, St Agnes does not soak the taxpayers for the shortfall. Many, including me, contribute money. But money is not the real story. The real story is time. Dozens of parents generously contribute time and talent. My son-in-law, Dell Lindgren, an example, contributes more than a couple hundred hours.

There is a spirit present at every performing arts presentation at St. Agnes that is not and cannot be part of the cold, empty government school experience. America needs what is present at St Agnes, Providence Academy and Hope Academy. Let’s resolve to get the government out and God in across America.
