Two headlines yesterday, Iran-backed rebels loot Yemen files about U.S. spy operations and Kerry lands in Switzerland for make-or-break Iran nuke talks seem inexplicable. The rational question would be, “Is this insanity?” The answer is no, this is pretty much what Obama set out to do when he ran for the Presidency. Bowe Bergdahl, and all the images that go with him, is the ideal symbol for this tragic period.

Many know Bergdahl was charged with two profoundly serious counts. If you missed the news, watch it now:

It is inconceivable that Bergdahl will be acquitted on either desertion or the more serious misbehavior before the enemy charge. With a conviction certain, remember back to the Bergdahl beginning in the White House Rose Garden.

Of course the President didn’t tell the truth; nothing new there. But the price for the return of, what Obama knew was a deserter, was unquestionable the highest in history.
