It seems two out of three Americans believe Governor Romney won the Presidential Debate last night. Romney was clearly very well prepared. As he prepared, did he read President George W. Bush’s great 2001 Inaugural Address? It seems so—and it seems clear President Obama should have.
That speech has been judged the greatest inaugural address since Lincoln’s Second Inaugural of 1865. It should not just inform two presidential debaters, it should inform voters heading for a definitive character test. Let these closing sentences move you to finish your preparation for the coming test.
America, at its best, is a place where personal responsibility is valued and expected. Encouraging responsibility is not a search for scapegoats, it is a call to conscience. And though it requires sacrifice, it brings a deeper fulfillment. We find the fullness of life, not only in options, but in commitments. And we find that children and community are the commitments that set us free.
Our public interest depends on private character; on civic duty and family bonds and basic fairness; on uncounted, unhonored acts of decency which give direction to our freedom.
Sometimes in life we are called to do great things. But as a saint of our times has said, every day we are called to do small things with great love. The most important tasks of a democracy are done by everyone.
I will live and lead by these principles: to advance my convictions with civility; to pursue the public interest with courage; to speak for greater justice and compassion; to call for responsibility, and try to live it as well. In all these ways, I will bring the values of our history to the care of our times.
What you do is as important as anything government does. I ask you to seek a common good beyond your comfort; to defend needed reforms against easy attacks; to serve your nation, beginning with your neighbor. I ask you to be citizens. Citizens, not spectators. Citizens, not subjects.
Responsible citizens, building communities of service and a nation of character. Americans are generous and strong and decent, not because we believe in ourselves, but because we hold beliefs beyond ourselves. When this spirit of citizenship is missing, no government program can replace it. When this spirit is present, no wrong can stand against it.
After the Declaration of Independence was signed, Virginia statesman John Page wrote to Thomas Jefferson: “We know the Race is not to the swift nor the Battle to the Strong. Do you not think an Angel rides in the Whirlwind and directs this Storm?”
Much time has passed since Jefferson arrived for his inaugural. The years and changes accumulate. But the themes of this day he would know: our nation’s grand story of courage, and its simple dream of dignity.
We are not this story’s author, who fills time and eternity with His purpose. Yet His purpose is achieved in our duty; and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another.
Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today: to make our country more just and generous; to affirm the dignity of our lives and every life.
This work continues. This story goes on. And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.

The Democrat National Convention featured Sandra Fluke and the “war on women.” But Ms. Fluke, forced to pay for her own birth control as she rolls through her second decade in college, is not the real “war on women” victim.
And neither is this the real war on women. Survivors of acid attacks are tragic victims. But they are victims of Shariah imposed slavery. Several hundred million women and girls live in Shariah imposed slavery. The radical Progressive keepers of the “war on women” can’t allow the world to see female slavery under Shariah. It would forever overshadow their little gender warfare gambit thereby destroying it.
The core of the real war on women is abortion. The word “choice” is, in reality, used as a substitute for abortion. If you are “in” with Sandra Fluke and the Democrats, any reason to abort is fine and, once a decision to abort is made, there can be no turning back for any reason—even birth. I wrote eighteen months ago that energy will be a core issue in the 2012 Election.Yes, there is division in America. If, as I believe, it is between “makers” and “takers,” then the vote is a test of character. But your view on energy is also a good character measure. Freedom comes with abundant cheap energy and control needs scarce expensive energy. While not universally true, as a rule of thumb, Republicans will be for drilling and Democrats will be for regulating.
We Americans have been endowed by our creator with an unimaginable abundance of energy riches. Technically recoverable oil in the United States is 145.5 billion barrels, and technically recoverable natural gas is 1,162.7 trillion cubic feet. Our 261 billion short tons of technically recoverable coal is only half the know deposits.
North Dakota Economic Model
The U.S. portion of the huge Bakken Formation is a mere 4 billion barrels. We are talking my home state of North Dakota here. North Dakota has been an oil state for 65 years—just middle of the pack. With technological advancements, that all changed. North Dakota is now the economic model for America.
This 12 year graph, from the American Enterprise Institute, is really a 6 year story. The last half is the North Dakota Model for America. This is exciting for America. Remember the North Dakota story is only 3% of America’s potential. We live in an age where we can actually see what thousands of men and women pursuing happiness looks like. In his June 4, 2009 speech in Cairo, President Obama made his new policy clear: oppose Israel and support her enemies. But America was the first country to recognize Israel. Democrat President Harry Truman recognized Israel on the very first day of her existence. Every president, Democrat and Republican, has carried forward the special relationship with Israel so wisely established by Truman—until now.
President Obama has been consistent these past 3½ years in his pro-jihad anti-Israel policy. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has been steadfast and clear, most recently expressed in his speech at the United Nations this past Thursday, September 27, 2012. He powerfully said, “Three thousand years ago, King David reigned over the Jewish state in our eternal capital, Jerusalem.” Watch or re-watch it all:

Christians across America see Israel as our friend. I am among many who are members of the organization Christians United For Israel.
More than 1 million CUFI members have taken this pledge to stand with Israel:
We believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their ancient land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.
We maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.
We pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until the attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.
It is not only Christians in America who stand with Israel, it is also Jews. Jews are turning away from Obama’s policy. We even have organized Jewish voters, the Republican Jewish Coalition. Here is their marvelous video,Perilous Times:
More astonishing than a “Republican Jewish Coalition,” is the emergence of secular Americans and pointedly secular and liberal Jewish-Americans against Obama and his anti-Israel policy. This new 18-minute mini-documentary, Absolutely Uncertain, is very revealing and assuring as it “follows the journey of Irina, a 23-year-old liberal, Jewish New Yorker who voted for Obama in 2008.”
Americans do stand with Israel. Expect and pray that they demonstrate that support with their vote November 6.
If you haven’t ordered Ann Coulter’s new book, Mugged, or more pointedly if you haven’t read her previous book, Demonic, you need to read both. Demonic carefully lays out the reality that the mindset we call progressive or liberal is rooted in hate, intolerance and the determination to rule with an iron fist. They intend to achieve their goal of tyrannical rule by any means necessary including threats and mob violence—much like jihadists.
In 2011 we were treated to mobs in Madison, Wisconsin and Columbus, Ohio followed later that year by the Obama/SEIU/ACORN Occupy Wall Street. This year has brought a smattering all that and another thing entirely—the intimidation of active engaged conservatives. A current example is this Godfather Politics story of death threats and vandalism a couple is receiving over this (now taped and patched up) home made Romney sign in their yard:
Business owners Dee and Gene Liboff of Woodland Hills, California, just wanted to show their support for Mitt Romney in the coming election by putting up a handmade sign in front of their home.
But what they were shown in return is the ugly side of some Obama supporters.
Ever since putting up the sign, the Liboffs, who are members of the San Fernando Valley Patriots, have been engaged in a running war with vandals who have cut, pulled down, torn apart and ripped the sign out of the ground.
Every time it happens, the Liboffs get out the tape and glue and put the sign back up. While doing so, they have been yelled at and cursed.
A passing biker who saw Dee fixing the sign screamed, “You are dead.”
But things took an even darker turn when the sign was vandalized again and the Liboffs found what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail left beside the ruins of the sign, possibly as a warning.
The makeshift bomb, consisting of a jar full of some sort of liquid and a rag stuffed in the jar mouth, prompted the bomb squad and fire department to begin a serious investigation into the targeting of the Liboffs’ sign. Police and fire officials have assured the Liboffs that they have their full support.
All the vandalism and threats have taken a toll on the Liboffs. “It hit me pretty hard this last time physically and emotionally,” Dee said. “This is not the country I believed in and couldn’t wait until I was old enough to vote. We must save our freedom. Socialism and communism are a deep cancer eating up the dreams of our children’s future.”
Dee notes that there are also good people in the neighborhood who have expressed support and sympathy for their troubles as well. So the sign remains.
“I worked on that beat up. battle-scarred banner and it is up again with a warning poster in English and Spanish saying, ‘Smile, you are on camera and this area is being investigated,’” Dee said.
As we pray for America these “40 days,” Let us pray for those on the front lines like Pamela Geller, Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin. Let us pray for those citizens, who like Allen West before them, are standing for election to restore America. And let us pray for unknown patriots like Dee and Gene Liboff who find themselves in a real line of fire simply because they are doing what they can to restore America and to restore Liberty herself.
A DIRE WARNING AS THE VOTER CHARACTER TEST LOOMS IN 39 DAYS . . .
According to the Daily Caller, “The White House is close to completing the text of an cybersecurity executive order, continuing its pursuit of expanding executive branch authority over the Internet.” The executive order would serve stated “government needs” after conservatives stopped a bipartisan effort (Senators Lieberman and McCain for example) in Congress to legislate “cybersecurity.” The unspoken and under reported consequences of this high handed and near tyrannical action is government intrusion into free expression on the Internet and to keep detailed records on every facet of each citizens life. The implication clearly is we are all prospective terrorists or enemies of the state.
Government heavy-handedness exists worldwide. China is a notable example of government regulation and censorship. The explanation for the impending executive action is potential terrorist threats against America’s utility grids and networks. But a barn door is being opened that is likely to prove near impossible to close against expanding and frightening government cyber-snooping. The danger of massive government abuse of your privacy has been around a long time. In the Preface of his new best selling thriller, Black List Brad Thor wrote:
On August 17, 1975, Senator Frank Church appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press to discuss the results of his full-scale investigation into America’s burgeoning intelligence capabilities. Senator Church revealed startling information and closed with a dire warning to every citizen of the United States:
[America’s intelligence gathering] capability at any time could be turned around on the American people and no American would have any privacy left. Such is the capability to monitor everything: telephone conversations, telegrams, it doesn’t matter. There would be no place to hide.
If this government ever became a tyrant, if a dictator ever took charge in this country, the technological capacity that the intelligence community has given the government could enable it to impose total tyranny, and there would be no way to fight back because the most careful effort to combine together in resistance to the government, no matter how privately it was done, is within the reach of the government to know. Such is the capability of this technology.
I don’t want to see this country ever go across the bridge. I know the capacity that is there to make tyranny total in America, and we must see to it that [the NSA} and all agencies that possess this technology operate within the law and under proper supervision so that we never cross over that abyss. That is the abyss from which there is no return.
We can and do expect that a Romney win/Republican majority will, with hard work, restore America’s economy, repeal and replace Obamacare, and reform much that is broken in the bloated federal government. We can and do expect that a Romney win/Republican majority will restore America’s military and refocus foreign policy. But, when we cross Senator Church’s bridge into an abyss “from which there is no return,” the tyrants and jihadists can have their way.
I have been writing that the election is a character test for America’s voters. Many have called for 40 days of prayer for America. Several pastors have formed an ad hoc 40 days of prayer committee. This by itself is inspiring. There are so many calls. I urge and implore you to hear the call; add your voice and heart to this chorus of worshipful humble supplication for the 40 days from September 28 to November 6, 2012. Breitbart’s John Nolte succinctly characterizes Bishop Jackson saying [he] “is not endorsing Mitt Romney or the Republican Party and never once mentions Barack Obama. His testimony is merely an indictment of the Democrat Party, not from a racial or partisan perspective, but from a Christian one.” As you watch, listen for Bishop Jackson declare, “It is not about party but principle, it’s not about race but righteousness and you will stand before to give an account for your choices and motives.”
Bishop Jackson did not say, “If you are black, leave the Democrat Party.” He said, “If you are a Christian, leave the Democrat Party.”
If you paid close attention you may have learned through the fraud media that President Obama was asked how he handled the pressure from Israel seeking an American “red line” against Iran’s nuclear weapons development. To which he answered:
“When it comes to our national security decisions — any pressure that I feel is simply to do what’s right for the American people. And I am going to block out — any noise that’s out there.”
Here is Pamela Geller with the response you wanted made:
“What’s right for the American people….” Was turning Egypt over to the Muslim Brotherhood “right for the American people?” Was turning Libya over to al Qaeda-tied jihadists “right for the American people”? Was Tunisia or Mali? Was leaving our foreign embassies in Libya and Egypt (and other hotspots) unguarded on 911 despite numerous warnings “right for the American people” or right for Ambassador Stevens, computer expert Sean Smith, and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods?
Was apologizing for our first amendment in the wake of violent anti-freedom riots “right for the American people?” Was running TV ads in Pakistan apologizing for freedom of speech “right for the American people?” Was Obama’s silence when a Pakistani cabinet minister put a $100,000 bounty on the head of a California filmmaker in the wake of those ads “right for the American people”? Were billions to the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt “right for the American people?” Were billions to the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza (Hamas) “right for the American people”? Was turning Afghanistan over to the Taliban “right for the American people?” Was Obama’s abandonment of religious minorities in Muslim countries “right for the American people?” Was importing whole Muslim communities into the US from jihadist nations (i.e. Somalia) “right for the American people?” Was the White House leaking successful anti-terrorism operations to bolster his re-election chances “right for the American people”?
What a dangerous, subversive insufferable liar, he is.
Just as important, under President Obama, Shariah law is now openly taking on our God given Liberty. The leadership of the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City has launched an online petition campaign for President Obama to back a bill to limit the free speech of American citizens they deem offensive.
The petition states:
The undersigned Board Of Directors and members of the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City (ISGKC) urges you to sponsor a bill that outlaws any action that may insult one’s religion. We utterly disagree with the violence that has taken place and the death of United States Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and other members of the United States embassy staff in Libya. We support the apprehension and conviction of those responsible for such acts.
We understand the First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights and, as such, prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, etc., but when the allowance of “free” speech incites violence it should be banned. (emphasis in the original)
Did you get that? “. . .when the allowance of ‘free’ speech incites violence it should be banned.” Did you get the God given Constitutional right to free speech is an allowance? Your rights are only an allowance. The carefully chosen word is “allowance.” Did you get that the “free” part of your free speech is in quotes? Did you get that Islam and Shariah law puts the burden of someone else’s violence on you? Did you get that the disposition of your rights is to ban?
Notice and understand that the Islamic Society of Kansas City is considered “peaceful.” This is not that perversion of Islam that is supposed to be the problem. The vast majority of Muslims are followers of a peaceful religion, you know. But it turns out if they become violent, it is your fault.
Your character and your vote is critical this November 6th. It is clear the continuation of Barak Obama and those he runs with will open America to a “fundamental transformation” from Constitutional law, based in Natural law, into the tyranny of Shariah law.
Many progressive Web Sites are proclaiming President Obama a success. The Administration, the Democrats, the sold out fraud media and The Obama is (fill in the blank—king for example) campaign are proclaiming President Obama a success. Vice President Biden, for example, declared, “bin Laden is dead and General Motors lives.”
This is a big mistake. In response to Biden, I tweeted, “Ambassador Chris Stevens is dead and al Qaida lives.” The more they proclaim success, the more imperative it is to replace President Obama. Much like the famous Emerson quote, “The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons.” One progressive outfit has a list of well over 100 successes. But they are virtually all Executive Orders which expand Federal power. If President Obama continues at this pace, he will have issued more Executive Orders than all 12 Presidents from Franklin Roosevelt until January, 2009.
President Obama takes credit for every little success of the government and blames others for every one of his failures. All of the Administration officers and spokespeople act exactly the same. Democrats, the fraud media, Hollywood, and academia have sold out in the same way. The few successes in the past four years are all Prince Obama’s and the failure are someone else’s from President Bush to some YouTube movie trailer of which no one has heard much less seen.
Then there is the willingness of Obama to be—and of the secular Progressive left to embrace as—a man-god. This would likely have worked in success but can only fail in this present massive National defeat. Let me make the point with the imagery they are projecting. Representative examples are the Lenin-like “Hope,” the basic “O” logo and the Obama American flag.
All three have been Photoshoped thousands of times—usually to ridicule. The flag was taken down quickly because of negative reaction from patriotic Americans. But the Obama takeover operation (er, I mean campaign) continues to promote the others. Take the “limited copy” sale of several items represented by this artist’s sleight of brush on the American flag, for sale at “Obama Inc.”
Items like this might achieve a goal of promoting our new man-god in National success. But in this present massive corruption and abject failure, they are easy targets to ridicule and defeat President Obama. Here is a flag-man comparison promoted by Speaker Gingrich, “Chairs and Stripes” by Branco at Legal Insurrection, and a “RushShop” exposing a specific corruption.
This is a political mistake made by an arrogant Obama, Democrat Party, and Progressive left. It is a fatal trap of their own making. The Republican national Committee just released this one minute commercial exploiting Obama’s self-made trap and powerfully demonstrating my point.
If the Republicans, the Tea Parties and patriots across America work with urgency, pray without ceasing and vote with character, President Obama will go down to a massive defeat taking many Democrats with him leaving behind for the heavy lifting of rebuilding and restoring this ‘Sweet Land of Liberty.”

War and conflict have been with us since the beginning of civilizations. But in the first part of the 20th century, the advance of modern weaponry led to death on a staggering scale. It was this killing that compelled the founders of this body to build an institution that was focused not just on ending one war, but on averting others; a union of sovereign states that would seek to prevent conflict, while also addressing its causes.
No American did more to pursue this objective than President Franklin Roosevelt. He knew that a victory in war was not enough. As he said at one of the very first meetings on the founding of the United Nations, “We have got to make, not merely peace, but a peace that will last.” . . . .
. . . . I took office at a time of two wars for the United States. Moreover, the violent extremists who drew us into war in the first place — Osama bin Laden, and his al Qaeda organization — remained at large. Today, we’ve set a new direction.
At the end of this year, America’s military operation in Iraq will be over. We will have a normal relationship with a sovereign nation that is a member of the community of nations. That equal partnership will be strengthened by our support for Iraq — for its government and for its security forces, for its people and for their aspirations.
As we end the war in Iraq, the United States and our coalition partners have begun a transition in Afghanistan. Between now and 2014, an increasingly capable Afghan government and security forces will step forward to take responsibility for the future of their country. One year ago, Egypt had known one President for nearly 30 years. But for 18 days, the eyes of the world were glued to Tahrir Square, where Egyptians from all walks of life — men and women, young and old, Muslim and Christian — demanded their universal rights. We saw in those protesters the moral force of non-violence that has lit the world from Delhi to Warsaw, from Selma to South Africa — and we knew that change had come to Egypt and to the Arab world.
One year ago, the people of Libya were ruled by the world’s longest-serving dictator. But faced with bullets and bombs and a dictator who threatened to hunt them down like rats, they showed relentless bravery. We will never forget the words of the Libyan who stood up in those early days of the revolution and said, “Our words are free now.” It’s a feeling you can’t explain. Day after day, in the face of bullets and bombs, the Libyan people refused to give back that freedom. And when they were threatened by the kind of mass atrocity that often went unchallenged in the last century, the United Nations lived up to its charter. The Security Council authorized all necessary measures to prevent a massacre. The Arab League called for this effort; Arab nations joined a NATO-led coalition that halted Qaddafi’s forces in their tracks.
In the months that followed, the will of the coalition proved unbreakable, and the will of the Libyan people could not be denied. Forty-two years of tyranny was ended in six months. From Tripoli to Misurata to Benghazi — today, Libya is free. Yesterday, the leaders of a new Libya took their rightful place beside us, and this week, the United States is reopening our embassy in Tripoli.
This is how the international community is supposed to work — nations standing together for the sake of peace and security, and individuals claiming their rights. Now, all of us have a responsibility to support the new Libya — the new Libyan government as they confront the challenge of turning this moment of promise into a just and lasting peace for all Libyans.
So this has been a remarkable year. The Qaddafi regime is over. Gbagbo, Ben Ali, Mubarak are no longer in power. Osama bin Laden is gone, and the idea that change could only come through violence has been buried with him. Something is happening in our world. The way things have been is not the way that they will be. The humiliating grip of corruption and tyranny is being pried open. Dictators are on notice. Technology is putting power into the hands of the people. The youth are delivering a powerful rebuke to dictatorship, and rejecting the lie that some races, some peoples, some religions, some ethnicities do not desire democracy. Dancing on Gaddafi’s grave, Secretary of State Clinton cackled, “We came, we saw, he died.” Just two weeks ago today Vice President Biden spiked the ball again at the DNC saying, “Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive.”
