Virginia gave us Thomas Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence. Virginia also gave us James Madison and the Constitution for the United States of America. Who could have guessed that, 238 and 227 years later respectively, Virginia would have a Republican party that would give us a Creed that would be our roadmap back to the great nation and land of Liberty we were created to be?
Enter Dave Brat
Well, OK. The RPV Creed is just about as ignored by the RPV as any other State Republican party. But they did keep the largely ignored Creed and posted it on their Web Site where it was discovered by Dave Brat. Brat, as most of America now knows, is the economics professor who defeated U. S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Virginia Republican Primary Tuesday.
Amnesty for illegal immigrants is generally regarded as the issue used by brat to bring Rep. Cantor down. It is an important issue but Brat, who was outspent by Cantor $41 to $1 (that is $5 million to $120,000), inspired an army of volunteers by making the RPV Creed the central issue in his campaign. Here is the way it looks on his Web Site:
Those six statements of common belief will inspire millions of Americans in this 2014 election as we work to restore America from the disaster we have let her become. Every candidate at every level who is committed to restore America must make the RPV Creed central in their campaign.
