OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CALL SLAVERY BY ITS NAME

Women and Girls as Chattel

In a recent post (here), I wrote America’s fathers and America herself were the shining leader in abolishing slavery. Further, America has been the most positive force for freedom across history and around the World. In that post I charged that more than 600 million women and girls are living in slavery under Islam.

My charge ought to astonish. It should bring demands for evidence. Robert Spencer and my friend Pamela Geller chronicle events virtually every day that illustrate. In a recent post, my friend, Amil Imani, laid out a stinging indictment of Islam on this matter. He called Islam a . . .

. . . misogynist religion of Allah . . . custom-made for the savage male.

This misogynist religion of Allah is custom-made for the savage male. A faithful follower of Allah is allowed to have as many as four permanent wives-and replace any of them at any time he wants-as well as an unlimited number of one night or one-hour-stands that he can afford to rent. But, woe unto a woman if she even has a single love affair with another man. Nothing less than death by stoning is her just punishment.

JESSE JACKSON JR., THE U.S. CONSTITUTION AND SLAVERY

The Lie: The Constitution and the Fathers of America Were the Cause of Slavery

As you know, to their great credit, the new Republican majority in the House of Representatives had the Constitution of the United States of America read on the floor of the House Chamber Thursday. The portions of the original Constitution that were changed or stricken by amendment were not read. The reading of the Constitution for the United States of America delightfully brought about consternation and crisis among many Secular Fundamentalists in the Congress and the media (see New York Times example).

(This could not get more fun for you and me: the Secular Fundamentalists in the Congress had, only the day before, sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution.)

Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. rose to a point of privilege. His need was to point out one portion stricken by amendment, the 3/5 provision for slaves in taking the Constitutionally prescribed census. This, he indicated, causes pain to everyone who looks like him, to women, and to others who struggle against the imperfections of the Constitution.

Concerning Slavery, How Shall We Remember the Fathers of America and America Herself?

Shall their legacy be, they promoted slavery and kept slaves? No! America, and her fathers, has done more —paid a higher price— to end slavery than any people at any time in any culture. The provision in the Constitution to count slaves as 3/5 person directly caused the erosion of support for holding slavery legitimate. As the country grew from decade to decade, slavery lost its economic advantage and actually became a disadvantage.

Slavery has existed among all peoples across all history. Certainly there are at least 2 billion people in slavery today. There are more than 600 million women and girls living in slavery where Islam prevails. This example of Islamic darkness is completely ignored by Secular Fundamentalists; tolerance, you know.

If Jackson is concerned about the imperfection of governing documents, let him cry out against Shariah law and the hundreds of millions of women and girls oppressed by the darkness of Islam. On the other hand, perhaps Jackson’s need is more cynical. Perhaps he simply needs to keep his hand in the pockets of others; just like his dad.

THE NEW YORK TIMES: THE CONSTITUTION CANNOT JUST BE READ

Reading the Constitution Can Be Very Confusing; Potentially Dangerous.

In just two days, the Republicans have driven the Media into hysterics. The best examples might be the New York Times whose reporter, Kate Zernike, offers an “annotated guide.” Right! We could never make this up, Zernike is here to help your simple mind with an “annotated guide” lest you be misled by those nasty Republicans.

Our friend, John Hinderaker, at Power Line covered the sublime Zernike hysterics wonderfully. Treat yourself to John’s post yesterday here.

WIKILEAKS: SADAM HAD WMD

Case Closed, G.W. Bush Vindicated

Meet Larry Elder

“A ‘firebrand libertarian’ according to Daily Varibest-selling author, radio and TV talk-show host. Larry Elder has a take-no-prisoners style, using such old-fashioned things as evidence and logic . . .”

Larry published a piece, December 9th, that covered the story perfectly. I’ll not get in the way. Here is Larry’s piece:

The WikiLeaks de facto declassification of privileged material makes it case closed: Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction — and intended to restart his program once the heat was off.

President George W. Bush, in the 2003 State of the Union address, uttered the infamous “16 words”: “The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa.”

Former Ambassador Joe Wilson sprang into action and, in an op-ed piece, in effect wrote, “No, the Cheney administration sent me to investigate the allegation — and I found it without merit.”

Put aside that Wilson’s CIA-employed wife, not the evil Vice President Dick Cheney — as Wilson implied — sent him on the African errand. Put aside that the British still stand by the intelligence on which Bush made the claim. And put aside that the anti-Bush Washington Post, in an editorial, concluded that Wilson had lied about not finding evidence to support the Iraq-in-Africa-for-uranium claim, since he told the CIA the opposite when he reported back from Africa.

Bush claimed that Iraq sought uranium, specifically “yellowcake.” What is yellowcake, and why would its presence or attempted acquisition corroborate the nearly unanimous assumption that Saddam possessed WMD?

The Associated Press called yellowcake “the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment” and said that it “also can be enriched for use in reactors and, at higher levels, nuclear weapons using sophisticated equipment.”

“Bush and Iraq: Follow the Yellow Cake Road” headlined a euphoric Time magazine July 2003 piece — written when the Bush administration began backtracking from the Iraq-sought-uranium-from-Africa claim. Time said no yellowcake equals no WMD equals bogus basis for war.

The article led with this ripper: “Is a fib really a fib if the teller is unaware that he is uttering an untruth? That question appears to be the basis of the White House defense, having now admitted a falsehood in President Bush’s claim, in his State of the Union address, that Iraq had tried to buy uranium in Africa.”

Time hoisted (the now discredited) Joe Wilson on its shoulders as The Man Who Told the Truth to Power: “Just last weekend, the man sent by the CIA to check out the Niger story broke cover and revealed that he had thoroughly debunked the allegation many months before President Bush repeated it.” Never mind that the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee concluded that Wilson’s report “lent more credibility to the original Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) reports on the uranium deal” sought by Iraq in Niger.

Let’s recap.

Bush, in building the case for war against Iraq, lied to the nation. He falsely claimed that Iraq was attempting to purchase yellowcake from Africa. Time magazine specifically referred to the yellowcake “lie” in accusing Bush of fabricating the case for war. Therefore, were Iraq to have had yellowcake — an assertion called a “lie” — it would have confirmed the presence of WMD, giving credence to Bush’s declaration of Iraq as a “grave and gathering threat.”

But … there … was … yellowcake. This brings us back to WikiLeaks.

Wired magazine’s contributing editor Noah Shachtman — a nonresident fellow at the liberal Brookings Institution — researched the 400,000 WikiLeaked documents released in October. Here’s what he found: “By late 2003, even the Bush White House’s staunchest defenders were starting to give up on the idea that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. But WikiLeaks’ newly-released Iraq war documents reveal that for years afterward, U.S. troops continued to find chemical weapons labs, encounter insurgent specialists in toxins and uncover weapons of mass destruction (emphasis added). … Chemical weapons, especially, did not vanish from the Iraqi battlefield. Remnants of Saddam’s toxic arsenal, largely destroyed after the Gulf War, remained. Jihadists, insurgents and foreign (possibly Iranian) agitators turned to these stockpiles during the Iraq conflict — and may have brewed up their own deadly agents.”

In 2008, our military shipped out of Iraq — on 37 flights in 3,500 barrels — what even The Associated Press called “the last major remnant of Saddam Hussein’s nuclear program”: 550 metric tons of the supposedly nonexistent yellowcake. The New York Sun editorialized: “The uranium issue is not a trivial one, because Iraq, sitting on vast oil reserves, has no peaceful need for nuclear power. … To leave this nuclear material sitting around the Middle East in the hands of Saddam … would have been too big a risk.”

Now the mainscream media no longer deem yellowcake — the WMD Bush supposedly lied about — a WMD. It was, well, old. It was degraded. It was not what we think of when we think of WMD. Really? Square that with what former Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean said in April 2004: “There were no weapons of mass destruction.” MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow goes even further, insisting, against the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that “Saddam Hussein was not pursuing weapons of mass destruction”!

Bush, hammered by the insidious “Bush Lied, People Died” mantra, endured one of the most vicious smears against any president in history. He is owed an apology.

When Hollywood makes “The Vindication of George W. Bush,” maybe Sean Penn can play the lead.

Thank you Larry,

Case Closed

THE CALL: A FACE OF LIBERTY

The December 17th DAILY CALL to Patriots . . .

. . . was my second visit to a subject that profoundly affected me. It definitely focused me on the task at hand. It has and is and will touch others in these times. One of these is Amil Imani. Amil works for the cause of Liberty here in America. He also works for the cause of Liberty in his homeland. You see, Amil is an Iranian emigrant. Here is the focus of my December 17th Daily call:

Greetings fellow Patriots,

Liberty Lives! Do you hear the CALL; See The Face of Liberty?

These daily messages which are focused on restoration of the Constitution, America and Liberty, began this past June 28, 2010. There were various subject themes —especially “D DAY -”. After the election, the rightful subject, The “DAILY CALL” took its place. The term was actually born in 2009, a year before the June 28th beginning.

Remember, in the wake of the fraudulent and stolen election in Iran, the people rose up, peacefully demonstrating; calling for honest elections. They had every right to expect moral support from the United States. Obama reacted as I expected: he stood with the Ayatollahs and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. You will recall many who stood for honesty in the election and freedom were killed, imprisoned and, if female, raped. For me and many, a young woman, just 16, became a symbol for Liberty that transcended Iran. Her name was, Neda Agha Soltan.

She was the inspiration for the term, DAILY CALL. Here is what I wrote in June of 2009:

Liberty lives. Perhaps many American voters slept. The Obama Administration does not speak of Liberty. But Liberty is the Light that, according to Lincoln, was the stuff of America’s conception. That light of Liberty burns today in America and in hearts across the world. Today it has a face. The face of an innocent sweet 16 year old who stood up against tyranny and for Liberty and was murdered by the instruments of the tyrants. Perhaps she was born for this purpose. Take a look.

The face of Liberty

Neda Agha Soltan

Neda means “THE CALL”

Are you listening; do you hear the call?

I quickly received a response from Amil. He led me to his post on his own Web Site from June 24th, 2009 —the same date as my original writing. If you, too, are pulled by this face of Liberty; if you understand the purpose of this young life —to give God’s Call to many— you dare not miss Amil’s post. Find it Here.

OBAMA AND ARAB IMPERIALISM

A Trip of Apology and Appeasment!

I have made (email) friends with a few very key individuals in the battle for the future of liberty. One of these is Amil Imani, an immigrant from Iran. Amil stands with many on the front line. His role is clear because of his experience being born in Iran and living under Islam.

Amil wrote a compelling post Sunday, December 12, 2010, at his own Web Site, amilimani.com, Obama and Arab Imperialism.

Have you ever asked yourselves why Barack Hussein Obama began his presidency by shocking America with his grandiose trip of apology and appeasement to ‘the Muslim world’? Did you ever ask yourselves where on earth he derived the notion that America is ‘one of the largest Muslim countries in the world’? How in the world did he come up with the notion that Islam has been part of America since its foundation?

Have you wondered why President Obama refused to say a word on behalf of millions of Iranians flooding the streets of their major cities in the summer of 2009 as they voiced their opposition to the illegitimate mullahcracy that has been enslaving Iranian people for more than three decades? Or, why Obama instructed his National Security adviser John Brennan to henceforth refer to Jerusalem, the capital of Israel for millennia “Al Quds”- the Arabic Muslim name for the city? RESTORATION WEEKEND: PART I

OUR PURPOSE IS TO RESTORE AMERICA.

By definition, that requires restoration. David Horowitz has been on the front lines  working to restore America for some twenty years. In many places, truth on college campuses (campi) for example, Horowitz was —and too often still is— the front line period.

David has for the past 16 years sponsored, produced and run Restoration Weekend each fall. Restoration Weekend brings the best thinking in America together to define clearly what “America restored” is and the best ways to get there. Americans serious about leading in our mission are compelled to be there. Every citizen committed to restore America, you, dear friend, must learn all you can —starting today.

“We must have the courage to tell the truth and we have to have the courage to act on the truth.”

Newt (and Callista) Gingrich:

“American exceptionalism starts with the premise that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights which means that we are the only country that says, ‘you personally are sovereign.’ You loan power to the state; the state never loans power to you, and that is why we are so fundamentally different from the Obama model.”

Watch the summarizing portion of the Gingrich presentation. If you are 20% as motivates as I, go HERE for the whole inspiring vision.

We are not alone. We will preavail.

IT’S COMPLICATED

Working With Neighbors —Sort of.

I share the same area (Minneapolis – St. Paul) with Power Line’s John Hinderaker and Scott Johnson.

This is a repackage of Hinderaker’s post and an introduction to Johnson’s profound and important post Tuesday. Do not miss following the link to the rest of Johnson’s post.

It’s Complicated, December 7, 2010, Posted by John

Michael Ramirez on what needs to be done to bring our fiscal crisis under control:

Of course, as Scott pointed out earlier today, it is a lot easier to figure out where to cut spending if you begin by asking, what is the proper role of the federal government?

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE CONSTITUTION? Scott, December 7, 2010

Last week the American Enterprise Institute convened a debate between Rep. Paul Ryan and New York Times columnist David Brooks on the subject of limited government. As advertised, Rep. Ryan was to deliver the case for limited government and Brooks was to counter with the case for “energetic” government. The debate was triggered by the Wall Street Journal column co-authored by Rep. Ryan with AEI president Arthur Brooks and David Brooks’s column responding to it. (Rep. Ryan continued the exchange here. Charles Murray commented here.)

AEI has posted the video of the debate. . . Finnish here.

Keep in mind, Representative Paul Ryan, incoming Chairman of the House Budget Committee, is a powerhouse and one of the good guys.

YES, TSA INVADES YOU; DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TOO?

Islam (Muslim Advocates) is moving quickly to exempt Muslims from TSA searches.

Do they honor those who help them? I guess so.

Sound like an organization with a completely innocent name to you? The Muslim Advocates (for advancing Shariah) are honoring, Attorney General, Eric Holder at their annual dinner. I have not made the case here but, Holder is the most corrupt and Anti-American Attorney General in history. He is happy to appear and give the keynote address.
