The unbirthdayer in chief has made it onto another cover of Newsweek magazine. (I am among those old enough to remember when a Newsweek cover was a really big thing.) This screen snip is from an ABC report.
Politico reports this Newsweek preview of the Andrew Sullivan cover feature:
It’s easy to write off President Obama’s announcement of his support for gay marriage as a political ploy during an election year. But don’t believe the cynics. Andrew Sullivan argues that this announcement has been in the making for years. “When you step back a little and assess the record of Obama on gay rights, you see, in fact, that this was not an aberration. It was an inevitable culmination of three years of work.” And President Obama has much in common with the gay community. “He had to discover his black identity and then reconcile it with his white family, just as gays discover their homosexual identity and then have to reconcile it with their heterosexual family,” Sullivan writes.
I know. It just makes you all gushy and dreamy just to be in our fundamentally transformed America. So what if our health-care system is destroyed. So what if America goes broke. So what if we are about to be overrun by Islam. So what if your children have no future. So what. And, yes, Obama does “have much in common” with the “gay” (homosexual) “Community.”
The White House and the Democrats are supposed to be really pleased with this new “face for America.” Who needs Mt. Rushmore when you have Newsweek and the parallel world of Andrew Sullivan. A majority of Americans are now said to favor “Gay Marriage” (A perversion of the word marriage). I do not think so. I think those polled are tired of the matter and certainly not willing to defend themselves against charges of bigotry and more. Of course Obama dodges the historic national disaster that is his administration another week as affirmed by the fact of this post.
