OBAMA POLICY: IF YOU ARE OUR FRIEND, SHAME ON YOU; ISRAEL? WHO ARE YOU?

The latest Obama Administration outrage is scrubbing Israel from references to Jerusalem on the White House Web Site.

The White house was caught in the act by The Weekly Standard Tuesday in this post by Daniel Halper. (We also get coverage, Wednesday, at the Blaze.)

At 3:22 p.m., I posted this photo of Vice President Joe Biden and Shimon Peres, with an accompanying caption that indicated it had been taken last year in Jerusalem, Israel:

The point of posting the photo was to show that, although the State Department refuses to say that Jerusalem is in Israel, even the White House website acknowledges this elementary truth (at least for Western Jerusalem, west of the 1949 armistic lines). But not any more. Within two hours of posting, the White House has apparently gone through its website, cleansing any reference to Jerusalem as being in Israel.

The caption now reads: “Vice President Joe Biden laughs with Israeli President Shimon Peres in Jerusalem, March 9, 2010.” It seems pretty odd that the vice president of the United States and the president of Israel were meeting in a third country, but at least the White House is now squarely aligned with the State Department.

The Weekly Standard documents the quick scrub of Israel from Jerusalem by the White House in this video:

“The word Israel is cleansed from a photo of a site memorializing Jews who were ethnically cleansed.”

We must use the precise word here, evil. Jerusalem was established by God (good) and delivered to the Israelites—the core of His promise to Abraham. Islam was established by evil. President Obama and many of his advisors (Deputy National Security Advisor John O. Brennan for example) have been serving this evil, in America’s name, since early in the Obama Administration. Do you doubt me? Watch the 1:47 video again!

ALGORE IS STILL AT LARGE: GOD REMAINS IN CONTROL OF THE CLIMATE

According to numerous writers, including Steven Hayward, Algore jumped the shark last week at Aspen.

Here, in part, is Algore’s rant, “Some of the exact same people — by name I can go down a list of their names — are involved in this, and so what do they do? They pay pseudo-scientists to pretend to be scientists to put out the message: ‘This climate thing, it’s nonsense. Man-made CO2 doesn’t trap heat. It may be volcanoes.’ Bullsh**t! ‘It may be sun spots.’ Bullsh**t! ‘It’s not getting warmer.’ Bullsh**t!”

These skeptics have been so successful, said Algore, that public and political discussions about climate change have devolved into a cycle of partisan bickering. “It’s no longer acceptable in mixed company, meaning bipartisan company, to use the godd**n word climate,” he said. “It is not acceptable. They have polluted it to the point where we cannot possibly come to an agreement on it.”

What set him off? James M. Taylor, a senior fellow for environmental policy at The Trumpet’s favorite climate truth-teller, The Heartland Institute, and Dr. Roy Spencer, a principal research scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and The Trumpet’s favorite climate scientist, released a major analysis of  NASA satellite data from 2000 to 2011 that, according to Taylor, deals a critical blow to some of the statements and predictions that have been made by global warming adherents.

As I’ve said before, all who have reflected on the size of God and His creation know anthropogenic climate change is not just baloney, it is impossible. Common sense is all that is really necessary to know anthropogenic climate change is not just baloney, it is impossible. But of course reflection on God and common sense are not allowed in the worldwide Green Grab for Power. Perhaps the best way to learn about the high stakes international Green Grab for Power is Michael Crichton’s terrific 2005 novel, State of Fear.

Fortunately we also have science and scientists with character like Dr. Spencer. And fortunately we have The Heartland Institute and their six international conferences on climate change.

BUT, MR. SECRETARY GEITHNER, HOW CAN WE DRAW THE RIGHT CONCLUSION?

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner ripped Standard & Poor’s two days after the ratings agency downgraded US debt, saying the stunning move was based on a “lack of knowledge” about the nation’s finances.

“S&P has shown really terrible judgment and they’ve handled themselves very poorly,” he said according to CNBC. “And they’ve shown a stunning lack of knowledge about basic U.S. fiscal budget math. And I think they drew exactly the wrong conclusion from this budget agreement.”

You have a “10 year” budget agreement with trillions here and trillions there and a debt ceiling that won’t last 16 months, Mr. Secretary. Perhaps, unlike you, Mr. Secretary, Standard and Poor’s, with a “stunning lack of knowledge,” are really are like the rest of us.

We have the facts Mr. Secretary. We just need a way to understand —oh wait, Mr. Secretary, I remember someone explained it something like this:

For this year, 2011 (or is it 2012) well, either way the

Federal budget is $3,820,000,000,000
Federal income is: $2,170,000,000,000
New 2011 (or 2012) debt is: $ 1,650,000,000,000
Present National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
Recent budget cut: $38,500,000,000

Well no wonder we —and apparently Standard and Poor’s— can’t understand these numbers you deal in Mr. Secretary. Perhaps, if we put it into terms that work for “TurboTax,” we could understand. It seems, if we just move our decimal eight (8) places to the left we have a more normal “TurboTax” family. Let’s try it:

Total 2011 (0r 2012) annual family income: $21,700
Total 2011 (or 2012) family spending: $38,200
Amount of new debt added to family credit card: $16,500
Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
Amount cut from the family budget: $385

Well there, thank you Mr. Secretary, . . . OH MY LORD! Look, it’s clear. Standard and Poor’s did have a stunning knowledge and used the same “TurboTax’ judgment as any regular American family. Our regular “TurboTax” family, call ‘em the Geithners, will need to sell the boat and lake property, sell all the cars except that 2002 Toyota Corolla, and, perhaps, get a smaller house—cut spending at least $18,000.

Well, I’m sure President Obama can explain it to you Mr. Secretary.

“THE RESPONSE” IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF PRAYER AND FASTING IN THIS PRESENT GREAT AWAKENING

More than 30,000 gathered in Houston for the prayer and fasting Response Saturday (August 6, 2011). The Trumpet Sounding for The Response was among the most popular posts since our beginning here 10 months ago. Thousands more surely must have live streamed The Response or simply spent time in prayer while fasting.

Texas Governor Rick Perry set the tone with this prayer:

“Lord, You are the source of every good thing, You are our only hope. And we stand before You today in awe of your power, and in gratitude for Your blessings; in humility for our sins.

Father, our heart breaks for America. We see discord at home. We see fear in the marketplace. We see anger in the halls of government. And as a nation we have forgotten Who made us, Who protects us, Who blesses us, and for that we cry out for Your forgiveness.

We pray for our nation’s leaders, Lord — for parents, for pastors, for the generals, for governors — that You would inspire them in these difficult times. Father, we pray for our president, that You would impart Your wisdom upon him, that You would guard his family. We pray for our military and the families who love them. Father, especially for those special operators who lost their life yesterday in defending our freedoms.

You call us to repent, Lord, and this day is our response. We give it all to You. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen and amen.”

The Houston Chronicle found the Christians who attended said the seven-hour event was just a beginning. The Response, they say, was a spiritually significant moment in their lives and in America’s body of believers. “There’s a revival coming.”

Here is the Houston Chronicle report.

PRESIDENT OBAMA FLASHBACK: ONE THING ABOUT THIS POSITION I’M IN, IT’S NICE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE

Providential Timing is Truly Amazing!

It was the day before The Response; a Day of Prayer and Fasting.

It was the very day President Obama presided over the “downgrading” of the United States of America.

Friday, August 5, 2011 was the day CNS News Service released a video showing President Obama saying in February 2009, “. . . My Presidency will be a one term proposition.”

A GREAT AWAKENING NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING IN TEXAS

The Response Saturday, August 6, 2011.

Our country is deeply divided. Only the period of the 1850’s saw America more torn within as now. How serious is the situation? Lincoln, on his way towards his great historic role, clearly defined the seriousness June 16, 1858 by quoting Christ:

The seriousness in this present Great Awakening is clearly recognized by Texas Governor Rick Perry who acted boldly.

You can join him and Christian leaders from across the Nation in this: A high-quality web stream of The Response will be available at TheResponseUSA.com starting at 9:00am CDT on August 6th.

The Response?

Historic Crisis

America is in the midst of a historic crisis. We have been besieged by financial debt, terrorism, and a multitude of natural disasters. The youth of America are in grave peril economically, socially, and, most of all, morally. There are threats emerging within our nation and beyond our borders beyond our power to solve.

Our nation is at a crossroads. More and more Americans are perceiving the critical juncture we find ourselves in – the future of our nation is determined by the courage of its people: first, in recognizing the magnitude of our common trouble; then, by uniting to seize the unique opportunity this moment offers us. Our response can, in part, determine our future and define for our children – and their children – what kind of nation they will govern, serve, and lead.

Historic Response

As a nation, we must come together, call upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy according to His grace, mercy, and kindness towards us. A historic crisis facing our nation and threatening our future demands a historic response from the church. We must, as a people, return to the faith and hope of our fathers. The ancient paths of great men were blazed in prayer – the humility of the truly great men of history was revealed in their recognition of the power and might of Jesus to save all who call on His great name.

Our hope is found in the One who might turn towards our nation in its time of great need – if we, as a nation would turn to Him in repentance, prayer, and fasting. The call of God to His people in times of great trouble is to gather together and call on Him with one voice, one heart, and a unified desire to see great blessing and great glory come to our nation again. The power of unified prayer from a humble gathering of the saints is found in the hope that He might answer us, and turn the tide of trouble and threats that stand against us.

Historic Breakthrough

Therefore, on August 6, thousands will gather to Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, to pray for a historic breakthrough for our country and a renewed sense of moral purpose. We want the presence, power, and person of Christ to fill our nation and turn the hearts of millions to righteousness, peace, and joy in Him. We want the blessing and favor of a Holy God who loves righteousness and wants to see righteousness exalt a nation in our generation. We want to see real change across our nation that only our God can perform. Will you join us in Houston? Will you pray, fast, and believe with us for a mighty move of God in our nation again?

There is hope for America. It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees.

Why a Solemn Assembly of Prayer and Fasting?

In Joel chapter two, an ancient Hebrew prophet speaks to a nation in crisis and gives her God’s solution: gather together, repent of their sins, and pray to God to intervene on their behalf. In that day the command was for everyone to stop what they were doing and gather for a sacred assembly to turn to God with all their hearts, “with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning” (Joel 2:12).

Why did God desire fasting, weeping, and mourning – or, to put it differently, contrition and humility – from the people? A “sacred assembly” (Joel 2:15) was a gathering that served a few purposes: first, in gathering, the people were acknowledging that their nation had drifted away from its foundations in morality and faith. Because of this moral decline, the people were not prepared to face the external threats rising up against them: economic, political, and military in nature. God wanted His people to understand that their internal threats (moral decline) were far greater than their external threats (economic crisis and military invasion).

In gathering together, God wanted the people instructed so that they would know why their nation was in peril. God wanted the people – from the children and nursing babes to the leaders and priests (Joel 2:16) – to all completely understand both the nature of the crisis at hand and the only solution that would deliver them from their great crisis: God Himself. God ordained in that hour of history that prayer would serve as the only way of escape from the mounting trouble. Why? Because only God had the power to solve both the internal moral decline and the external economic and military threats. All three were unsolvable by human means and human solutions – but God had a solution that could be found in His great mercy.

In gathering together, therefore, the people could cry out together with their leaders in humility and repentance led by their priests (Joel 2:17). There is power from heaven available to those who gather together and pray. We see a “Joel 2” gathering at the beginning of the book of Acts with a “Joel 2” answer in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2). The greatest missions movements in history – starting with the Apostle Paul – were launched out of prayer gatherings like the one in Acts 13. The great Catholic, Protestant, and Student Volunteer missions movements were all launched out of gatherings of prayer. The greatest revivals in history, such as the First and Second Great Awakenings, were also birthed out of sustained, persistent gatherings of prayer. Dramatic things have happened throughout many generations when the people of God come together and seek His face. Who knows what can happen in our generation when we gather together to worship Jesus, fast and pray, and believe for great change in our nation?

Historic Precedence for National Prayer

On March 23, 1798, President John Adams declared a national day of humility, fasting and prayer:
That the citizens of these States, abstaining on that day from their customary worldly occupations, offer their devout addresses to the Father of Mercies… with the deepest humility, acknowledge before God the manifold sins and transgressions with which we are justly chargeable as individuals and as a nation, beseeching Him at the same time, of His infinite grace, through the Redeemer of the World, freely to remit all our offenses, and to incline us by His Holy Spirit to that sincere repentance and reformation which may afford us reason to hope for His inestimable favor and heavenly benediction.

On April 13, 1841, President John Tyler declared a national day of fasting upon the death of President William Harrison: When a Christian people feel themselves to be overtaken by a great public calamity, it becomes them to humble themselves under the dispensation of Divine Providence, to recognize His righteous government over the children of men, to acknowledge His goodness in time past, as well as their own unworthiness, and to supplicate His merciful protection for the future…to impress all minds with a sense of the uncertainty of human things and of the dependence of nations, as well as individuals, upon our Heavenly Parent… We may all with one accord join in humble and reverential approach to Him in whose hands we are, invoking Him to inspire us with a proper spirit and temper of heart and mind under these frowns of His providence and still to bestow His gracious benedictions upon our Government and our country.

On March 16, 1776, the Continental Congress passed without dissent a resolution presented by General William Livingston declaring: Congress….desirous…to have people of all ranks and degrees duly impressed with a solemn sense of God’s superintending providence, and of their duty, devoutly to rely…on his aid and direction…do earnestly recommend Friday, the 17th day of May be observed by the colonies as a Day of Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer; that we may, with united hearts, confess and bewail our manifold sins and transgressions, and, by sincere repentance and amendment of life, appease God’s righteous displeasure, and, through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, obtain this pardon and forgiveness.

On June 14, 1783, George Washington wrote a prayer to governors of the newly freed states on disbanding army. On the plaque in St. Paul’s Chapel, NY, and Pohick Church, VA, where Washington was vestryman 1762-84: Almighty God; We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field. And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

On April 15, 1775, just four days before the Battle of Lexington, the Massachusetts Provincial Congress, led by John Hancock, declared: In circumstances dark as these, it becomes us, as men and Christians, to reflect that, whilst every prudent measure should be taken to ward off the impending judgments…the 11th of May next be set apart as a Day of Public Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer…to confess the sins…to implore the Forgiveness of all our Transgression.

On April 19, 1775, in a Proclamation of a Day of Fasting and Prayer, Connecticut Governor Jonathan Trumbull beseeched that: God would graciously pour out His Holy Spirit on us to bring us to a thorough repentance and effectual reformation that our iniquities may not be our ruin; that He would restore, preserve and secure the liberties of this and all the other British American colonies, and make the land a mountain of Holiness, and habitation of righteousness forever.

On June 12, 1775, less than two months after the Battles of Lexington and Concord, where was fired “the shot heard ‘round the world,” the Continental Congress, under President John Hancock, declared: Congress…considering the present critical, alarming and calamitous state…do earnestly recommend, that Thursday, the 12th of July next, be observed by the inhabitants of all the English Colonies on this Continent, as a Day of Public Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer, that we may with united hearts and voices, unfeignedly confess and deplore our many sins and offer up our joint supplications to the Allwise, Omnipotent and merciful Disposer of all Events, humbly beseeching Him to forgive our iniquities…It is recommended to Christians of all denominations to assemble for public worship and to abstain from servile labor and recreations of said day.

The reaction just as clearly defines the division in This House. “I have followed religion and politics closely for 35 years, and I have never seen a governor initiate and lead this kind of Christians-only prayer rally,” said Barry W. Lynn, executive director of the Washington-based Americans United for Separation of Church and State. (Reported in the New York Times) Google found 659,000 places this prayer and fasting response was criticized. Here is an example:

Groups gather opposition to Perry prayer meeting

AUSTIN, Texas — Civil liberties groups are gathering together in opposition to Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s day of prayer and fasting this weekend.

The groups, which say they represent tens of thousands of Texans, oppose the governor’s prayer meeting on Saturday because they say it disrespects the separation of church and state. They also complain that the groups organizing the event hold extreme positions on freedom of religion, homosexuality and the role of religion in government.

Perry has rejected the criticisms as unfair.

The Texas chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union is hosting an alternative event in Houston Friday night. The Texas Freedom Network sent Perry a letter signed by 10,000 people saying he is using religion for political gain. People for the American Way criticized the event for including intolerant groups.

AFTER 98 YEARS, IT’S NOT FAIR? THE “CRACKED HEAD MAN’S” FAIR SHELL GAME COMIN AT YOU

“You Need to Make the Tax System Fair, So Everybody Pays Their Fair Share.”

Joe Biden told Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Monday, “We’re both members of the cracked heads club.” Always able to multitask, the Vice President labeled you and me terrorists. But our focus is on his statement to CBS:

“The American people and the people here understand you need to make the tax system fair, so everybody pays their fair share. You need to do something about long-term structural entitlements, so you can preserve them, at the same time make them feasible over the next 30 years. And you need to cut discretionary spending, without eating your seed corn, so you can’t grow the economy through innovation and infrastructure.”

Do they ever define fair? No. How is it we have had an income tax for 98 years and it is still not fair. If we stand aside and let them make it fair this year or next, will it stay fair? To be fair, wouldn’t “fair” be equal? Yes fair is actually equal. If they “spread the wealth around” and some of us have more—that is not fair!

Here is a better way to look at “Fair.” It is the Fair Tax. Learn all about it here. Don’t have time? Herman Cain explains it in under two minutes:

UNITED STATES SENATE: DEBATE BUT NO PLAN; DEBATE BUT NO SOLUTION; DEBATE BUT NO ACTION

The United States Senate had a “debt crisis” debate Saturday. How’d it go?

Senator Reid had already swept the Plan passed by the United States of Representatives away.

  • Senator Reid had no plan—he never has; he had no solution—he never has; he had no action on the actual cause of the crisis—he never has.
  • Senator Conrad had no plan—he never has; he had no solution—he never has; he had no action on the actual cause of the crisis—he never has.
  • President Obama has no plan; he never will.

Obama and Reid talk about compromise. The only thing they seek in compromise is a green light for the President to borrow and spend $2.7 trillion through the 2012 election and in to 2013. That’s all.

Florida’s Freshman Senator Marco Rubio quickly brought clarity to the challenge saying, “So I think it’s important to remind people what we’re debating because although it is a difficult and important issue, it is not a complicated one to understand. It’s pretty straight forward.” Here are Senator Rubio’s remarks including a short debate with Massachusetts Senator Kerry.

NO, FATHER ESTEPHANOS, THE CHURCH BELL IS NOT THE REASON RAGING MUSLIMS ATTACKED AND BEAT CHRISTIANS IN EGYPT AGAIN

Perhaps you heard, Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik carried out a terrorist attack last week.

It was quickly established that he was not a Muslim. He was, the MSM said, a right wing Nazi which is an oxymoron. (The Nazi philosophy is a form of Marxism.)

They also found he is a self professed Christian. We learned there have been four terrorist attacks by Christians in just the last 20 years establishing a MSM moral equivalence between Islam and Christianity. Well yes if 4 attacks per 20 years is equivalent to more than 20,000 Jihadist attacks in 10 years.

Our champion of freedom, Pamela Geller, reports another vicious Muslim attack on Christians in Egypt. These attacks are commonplace now that we have all that “democracy” in Egypt. Here is the entire post at Atlas shrugs.

Muslims Brutally Attack Christians in Egypt Provoked By Installation of Church Bell

I anxiously await the media’s pursuit of the motive and blame of the mass persecution and slaughter of Christians in Muslim countries. Or can we expect the same blind and fatal stupidity by the media that cheered the Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt from a 30-year US ally?

I anxiously await the same intense, relentless extensive mainstream media coverage and obsession that we experienced immediately after the Norway massacre to determine the motivation behind the violence that resulted in the installation of a church bell. Contact extremists like Brian Williams, Anderson Cooper, the NY Times, LA Times, IHT, CNN, BBC, et al, and demand that they be just as rabidly obsessed and consumed with investigating the ideology that incited these Muslims to beat up a pregnant woman and lay in wait for the Coptic Chrstian farmers to return from their fields where they were ambushed and beaten with iron rods and pipes.

Muslim Attack on Christians in Egypt Provoked By Installation of Church Bell

(AINA) — An exchange of harsh words on July 25 between Ruth, a Christian woman, and Gassem Fouad, a Muslim man who had parked his tricycle in front of her home, escalated into assault by the man on Ruth and other Christian villagers, and the arrest of one Copt. After Ruth, who is 5 months pregnant, was assaulted, a Muslim mob waited for Coptic farmers to return from the fields, where they were intercepted and beaten with iron rods and pipes.
[…]
Six Christians, including Ruth and her sister-in-law Hannan, were hospitalized with concussions, head injuries and broken limbs. No Muslim was injured.

None of the Muslim perpetrators was arrested. Ruth’s husband, Kirillos Daniel, was accused of possessing a weapon — a rifle found thrown where the Christians were attacked, and is under detention.

In an interview on CTV Coptic TV, Father Estephanos Shehata, of the Samalout Coptic dioceses, said “The real reason behind this assault was the church bell, which has greatly angered the Muslims in the village.” He said the dilapidated church in the village of Ezbet Jacob Bebawi, outside Samalout, north of Minya, was given permission to renovate and this was completed last week, and the church bell was reinstalled.

“This is the first time such an incident has taken place in this village,” said Father Estephanos, “which is 60-75% Christian, and the reason is definitely the presence of the church bell.”

Christian villagers believe this assault was premeditated and they fear their church faces imminent attack, especially since Muslims have been slowly congregating in the village, which has a very weak presence of security forces.

By Mary Abdelmassih

Thanks Pamela. (AINA is Assyrian International News agency)

The given assumption is that there was a provocation. “Muslim Attack . . .  Provoked By Installation of Church Bell,” is wrong and ought to be offensive and unacceptable to every Christian and Jew. An attack over a church bell is not different than any attack over any Christian practice in any Christian church. The attack, which hospitalized 6 Christians, was somehow caused by the Christians—not the Muslim attackers (none of which were hospitalized).

Again, the reason, Father Estephanos, is definitely not the presence of the church bell. The reason is the dark, violent, debased, barbarous, evil, cruel, and wicked nature of Islam and its Shariah law. Islam is a system with a supposed god who is devoid of love. The system cruelly smothers the natural love in Muslims on a daily basis. The entire blame for Muslin terrorism and violence is Islam.

So we have a world with 10,000 Muslim terrorist attacks for every one Christian terrorist attack. This does not take into account “non-terrorist” attacks like the one in Egypt.

Google “Egyptian Muslins attack Christians,” you get 3700 results but take away the quotation marks and the results pop to 23 million. Google “Egyptian Christians attack Muslims” you get 0, zero, nada, nothing.

Stand up Christians. Come alongside Pamela Geller and, by the way, become a member of Christians United for Israel.
