NATIONAL TREASURE PAMELA GELLER: THIS IS HOW IT STARTS

VOLUNTARY SHARIA TRIBUNALS IN TEXAS

“Sharia Tribunals are coming to Texas – and probably soon to your state as well.”

By Pamela Geller, January 28, 2015

Breitbart Texas confirmed Tuesday that “an Islamic

Geller.1.29.2015Tribunal using Sharia law” is indeed operating in Texas. But not to worry: an attorney for the tribunal assures us that participation is “voluntary,” and one of the Sharia judges, Dr. Taher El-badawi, says it’s devoted only to “non-binding dispute resolution.”

This is how it starts. This is how it started in the United Kingdom. When Sharia courts were instituted there, Muslim and non-Muslim officials alike all assured the British public and the world that they would be voluntary, restricted to matters involving non-criminal matters, and subject to the British courts. Any areas in which British law and Sharia law conflicted would be referred not to the Sharia courts, but to the British courts.

That is not how it worked out. The Telegraph reported in August 2011 that “there are growing concerns” that the Sharia courts “are creating a parallel legal system — and one that is developing completely unchecked. The Independent stated in April 2012 “some Sharia law bodies have been misrepresented by the media as being transparent, voluntary and operating in accordance with human rights and equality legislation. This is not the case. Many Sharia law bodies rule on a range of disputes from domestic violence to child residence all of which should be dealt with by UK courts of law.” Instead, “they operate within a misogynist and patriarchal framework which is incompatible with UK legislation.”

And in July 2013, the BBC (of all places) announced a video expose of the Sharia courts:

A BBC Panorama Documentary goes undercover in one of the 85 sharia courts operating as a parallel legal system in the UK, uncovering the extensive abuse of women, refusal to grant divorces, charging of the woman but not the man for divorce proceedings, and even the taking away of the woman’s children, and rulings contrary to British law.

Now this is coming to Texas. Sharia judge El-badawi said this about the Islamic divorces his tribunal would be dealing with: “While participation in the tribunal is voluntary, a married couple cannot be considered divorced by the Islamic community unless it is granted by the tribunal.” He readily owned up to how sexist the process is: “The husband can request the divorce directly from the tribunal. The wife must go to an Imam who will request the divorce for her.”

Even worse, the UK’s Telegraph reported this about the Sharia courts in its August 2011 report:

After being beaten repeatedly by her husband — who had also threatened to kill her — Jameela turned to her local Sharia council in a desperate bid for a way out of her marriage…In an airless room in the bowels of the mosque, Jameela is asked to explain why she wants a divorce. She replies that her husband spends most of his time with his second wife — Islamic law allows men to have up to four wives — but complains he is abusive whenever he returns to her home.

Her request for a divorce was denied. “For the sake of the children, you must keep up the facade of cordial relations,” the Sharia judge told her. “The worst thing that can happen to a child is to see the father and mother quarreling.”

The Telegraph article adds ominously: “While a husband is not required to go through official channels to gain a divorce — being able to achieve this merely by uttering the word ‘talaq’ — Islamic law requires that the wife must persuade the judges to grant her a dissolution.” El-badawi sounds as if he is planning to set up the same system in Texas.

Will the Texas Sharia court also turns a blind eye to spousal abuse, like the British Sharia court that heard Jameela’s case, in accord with this Qur’anic directive? “Men are the managers of the affairs of women for that Allah has preferred in bounty one of them over another, and for that they have expended of their property. Righteous women are therefore obedient, guarding the secret for Allah’s guarding. And those you fear may be rebellious admonish; banish them to their couches, and beat them.” (Qur’an 4:34)

You think that couldn’t happen in Texas? When asked what he would do when Islamic law conflicted with American law, El-badawi said: “We follow Sharia law.”

The dehumanization and diminishment of women is universal in the Muslim world. Muslim women can’t go against what their husbands and Sharia judges decide, no matter how many times the Sharia courts insist that they’re “voluntary.” Above all, they can’t go against what Islam says.

These Sharia courts are vicious, misogynistic, and brutal. The host countries have no clue what goes on in these “tribunals.” They should be banned in Western nations. Instead, they’re coming to Texas – and probably soon to your state as well.

GOVERNOR SCOTT WALKER STORMS TO THE TOP AT THE IOWA FREEDOM SUMMIT

Several speakers (potential candidates) established powerful credentials. Keep in mind seven other potential top tier candidates were not at the Summit. We’ll make your look at seven of those at the Summit easy and publish them here.

Portrait.Walker

We begin today with Governor Walker. Readers of the Patriot’s Trumpet already know that Governor Walker is my early choice for President. The Freedom Summit gave Governor Walker a huge bump. The basic reason was the effectiveness and a acceptance as well as the substance. The second reason is that the successful proof of his ideas is being lived in Wisconsin. Perhaps first, as well as last, is that Governor Walker was judged the big winner by the whole range of conservative commentators from, ardent Romney (who was not there) supporter, Hugh Hewitt to radio talk show king Rush Limbaugh.

Governor Walker gave us a surprisingly intimate look into the experience for his family as well as himself with the viciousness of the Obama generated union thug shock troops sent into Wisconsin to intimidate and terrify. Here are a few memorable quotes:

  • Big government union bosses poured $10’s of millions into our State.
  • Most of all (during the recall) you prayed for us. Tonette and I could feel the power of those prayers. In the darkness of the days I can tell you what a difference it made to us.
  • The bigger challenge for us was all the death threats and the “visits” to our home. There were literally thousands of protesters in front of our home. My two sons were still going to high school. My parents were living at the time. My kids were targeted on face book.
  • More than just the ‘visits’ in front of our home were the death threats were just overwhelming.
  • Most of those threats were directed at me. But some of the worst were directed at my family. One that bothered me the most was one directed at me that said they were going to gut my wife like a deer.
  • The protesters tried to intimidate us but all they did was to remind me of how important it was to stand up in the first place.

Today I’m proud to tell you that, because of our reform, our boys are growing up in a State that is even better than the one we grew up in. Because we weren’t afraid to go big and to go bold for my sons and for their generation and for countless generations yet to be born they’re living in a state that’s on a better path. And people like the direction they’re heading. Maybe that’s why I’ve won the race for Governor three times in the last four years.

I think there is a powerful message to Republicans in Washington and around the Country. If you are not afraid to go big and go bold, you can actually get results! … And if you get the job done the voters will actually stand up with you.

Since I was elected Governor, we’ve cut taxes in Wisconsin, we reduced spending—we balanced the budget, we took the power away from the big government special interests and we put it firmly in the hands of the hard working taxpayers. That’s what we need more of in this great country. … If [his reforms] can work in a blue state like Wisconsin, they can work in any state in the country.

[Many people] don’t know about the common sense conservative agenda we’ve enacted in our State. Since I’ve governor we’ve passed prolife legislation and we’ve defunded Planned Parenthood. Since I’ve been governor we’ve pulled back on regulation of small businesses and family farms—I like to say we now enforce common sense instead of bureaucrat red tape. We’ve taken it beyond regulations. We’ve enacted legal reforms so that small businesses and farmer don’t have to deal with frivolous law suits. We’ve enacted legislation that allows for concealed carry and the castle doctrine so that law abiding citizens in our state can stand up and defend themselves and their families and their property. And we believe it’s important to protect the integrity of every vote cast so we require in our state, by law, a photo ID to vote.

Looking ahead as Republicans we need to make policies that promote and defend hard work in this country once again. We need to promote policies that open the door to opportunity for people to live their piece of the American dream.

I just want to end by telling you this, In America … it doesn’t matter what class you were born into, it doesn’t matter what your parents did for a living, in America the ultimate outcome is up to each of us individually.

Governor Walker closed with this promise: “I’m going to come back many more times in the future.”

Here is Governor Walker’s entire Freedom Summit speech which could prove to be historical:

THE TYRANT, DETERMINED TO DESTROY NETANYAHU, SENDS FUNDS AND STRATIGESTS TO DEFEAT HIM FOR REELECTION

The saga continues—Obama’s direct interference in the upcoming Israeli election for Prime Minister

UPDATE 1/28/2015: President Obama’s Department of State has sent American taxpayer’s money to defeat Prime Minister Netanyahu. The money actually went to the Obama supporting left wing funder “ONe Voice.”

Carline Glick courtesy—

PJ Media Logo

Caroline Glick picked up on one article the Israeli left-wing paper Ha’aretz didn’t bother translating into English that details Obama’s involvement in the upcoming Israeli elections. A summary of the article is provided by IMRA (Independent Media Review & Analysis):

Haaretz reporter Roi Arad revealed in an article in the Hebrew edition today [January 26] that the foreign funded organization, “One Voice”, is bankrolling the V-2015 campaign to defeat Binyamin Netanyahu’s national camp in the March 2015 Knesset Elections.

Netanyahu obama israel

One indication of the generous financing is that it has now flown in a team of five American campaign experts (including Jeremy Bird, the Obama campaign’s national field director) who will run the campaign out of offices taking up the ground floor of a Tel Aviv office building.

V-2015 is careful not to support a specific party – rather “just not Bibi”. As such, the foreign funds pouring into the campaign are not subject to Israel’s campaign finance laws.

Glick commented via Facebook:

Obama won’t meet Benjamin Netanyahu – בנימין נתניהו in Washington when he addresses the Joint Houses of Congress in March because of Netanyahu’s visit’s proximity to the Israeli elections. And Obama, of course believes in protocol and propriety which is why he won’t get involved. No, he’s not getting involved at all. He’s just sending his 2012 field campaign manager to Israel to run a campaign to defeat Netanyahu. That’s all. No interference whatsoever.

The Israeli Left adores touting Netanyahu’s “interference” in American elections, specifically his expression of support for Mitt Romney in the 2012 campaign. When it comes to Israeli left-wing politics, there are simply things you just don’t do when you represent the center-right. It should come as no surprise then that Haaretz, known on this side of the globe for its freakish ability to generate anonymous White House sources that love talking about how much Obama hates Bibi (a shared talent among the Left) would conveniently forget to translate this little news item for their English-reading audience.

We can assume 18% of voters in American national elections are hard core leftists. That means 42,700,000 American voters made the greatest blunder in electoral history. It raises questions:

  • Have they learned?
  • Will they learn?
  • Is there time?

IS “GOING NUCLEAR ON NETANYAHU” EVIDENCE OF A TYRANT AND WOULD BE DICTATOR?

It has been showing since the 2012 reelection of Obama to the Presidency of the United States of America; an attitude to simply decree policies to complete the “fundamental transformation” of America from a free Constitutional Republic to a people who are centrally directed from the White House.

The truth became apparent to all alert observers after the 2014 elections. I have been among those who believed the tyranny would start for real when Congressional legislation reached the Oval Office. But is didn’t take that long. No, the eruption came 12 hours after Obama completed his address, claiming mastery over the country and the world, to Congress last Tuesday night. The wrath of a tyrannical dictator was not directed at house Speaker John Boehner. No. It was directed at the JEW, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu! The JEW has gone too far. The Obama regime has clearly decided to go nuclear on the JEW. Or, perhaps they didn’t decide but rather could not control their rage.

Netanyahu obama israel

Here is a column by Michael Goodwin (which does not touch the anti-Semitism implied above) reprinted from the New York Post late 1.24.2015

White House going nuclear on Netanyahu

Thou shall not cross Dear Leader.

With their gutter sniping failing to stop Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s planned March speech before Congress, White House aides are unloading their full arsenal of bile.

“He spat in our face publicly, and that’s no way to behave,” one Obama aide told an Israeli newspaper. “Netanyahu ought to remember that President Obama has a year and a half left to his presidency, and that there will be a price.”

It is pointless to say petty threats do not become the Oval Office. Trying to instruct this White House on manners recalls what Mark Twain said about trying to teach a pig to sing: It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Still, the fury is telling. It reminds, as if we could forget, that everything is always about Obama.

How dare Israel be more concerned with the existential threat of Iranian nukes than with Obama’s feelings? And what do members of Congress think they are; a separate branch of government or something?

Yes, the presidency deserves respect, even when the president doesn’t. Although Obama routinely ignores lawmakers and their role in our constitutional system of checks and balances, there is an argument afoot that Congress should have taken the high road and consulted him before inviting Netanyahu.

The argument has a point — but not a compelling one. To give Obama veto power over the visit would be to put protocol and his pride before the most important issue in the world.

That is Iran’s march to nuclear weapons, and Obama’s foolish complicity. His claim at the State of the Union that “we’ve halted the progress of its nuclear program and reduced its stockpile of nuclear material” would be laughable if it weren’t so dangerous. The claim earned him three Pinocchios, with four being an outright whopper, by The Washington Post.

Outside the president’s yes-men circle, nobody believes the mad mullahs will voluntarily give up their quest for the bomb. International sanctions made life difficult for the regime, especially with oil prices cratering, but Obama relaxed restrictions with nothing to show for it except negotiations where he keeps bidding against himself.

He is desperate for a deal, and the Iranians know it, so they want to keep talking. They are gaining concessions and buying time, which means a reversal of their weapons program becomes much harder to achieve.

The ticking doomsday clock is what led to the remarkable comments by Democrat Robert Menendez. After Obama warned that more sanctions, even if they would not take effect unless the talks collapsed, could scare off the Iranians, the New Jersey senator said Obama was repeating talking points that “come straight out of Tehran.”

That’s a zinger for the ages — and has the added advantage of being true.

Any deal that leaves Iran with a capacity to make a nuke in weeks or months will ignite a regional arms race. As I have noted, American military and intelligence officials believe a nuclear-armed Iran will lead to a nuclear exchange with Israel or Arab countries within five years.

Israel has the most to lose from an Iranian nuke, and Netanyahu can be expected to articulate a forceful argument against Obama’s disastrous course. That’s why House Speaker John Boehner invited him, and it’s why the president is so bent out of shape and refuses to meet with Netanyahu. He doesn’t want Americans to hear the other side.

But we must. And Congress must not shirk from its duty to demand a meaningful agreement with Iran, or none at all.

An extra layer of sanctions waiting in the wings is good backup, but another pending bill is more important. It would demand that any agreement come before the Senate for a vote.

Naturally, Obama opposes it, but that’s all the more reason why it is needed. As Ronald Reagan famously said about Soviet promises, “Trust but verify.”

So must it be with Iran and, sadly, our own president.

Sadly this is only the beginning. We must be vigilant and we must have the resolve for bold action.

JESUS IS WALKING IN AMERICA AND IN LIBYA—PRAY NOW FOR A MIRACLE

Jim Jacobson of Christian Freedom International Reported Tuesday that Twenty Egyptian Christian men and one 14 year old Egyptian Christian girl were abducted by the Islamic State (ISIS) in eastern Libya. ISIS has announced they have the Egyptian migrant workers and girl and intend to execute (presumably behead) them.

The Obama Regime will, of course, not even notice. Religion of peace you know. The “smart policy” is working you know. The world has never been safer you know. The victims provoked their abduction you know. It would appear these poor souls will perish.

But wait! Jesus is walking in Libya!

And He is a God of miracles! He has unknown tens of thousands of believers praying for a miraculous safe release of 21 members of His flock! If you are reading this, you can be one of them! If you belong to Jesus, He is walking with you and you therefore, through your prayers, will be walking with Him in Libya!

Listen to Jim Jacobson then pray for a miracle release for these 21 fellow members of the body of Christ.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: NETANYAHU WILL PAY A PRICE—PERHAPS IT IS TIME OBAMA PAYS A PRICE

—For his anti-Semitism?

An anti-Semite in the White House

The headline Friday morning, White House outrage—“Netanyahu spit in our face and there will be a price to pay,” is not new outrage by Obama towards Netanyahu and Israel. Notice the term “outrage” was used throughout media reports. Rage is not anger caused by an event. Rage is the explosion of a simmering hate. This is not new for Obama towards Netanyahu and Israel. Rage towards Israel can only be explained by one thing—anti-Semitism.

This is a sad day. President Obama is an anti-Semite. Last October the President supported the anti-Semite Mahmoud Abbas and the anti-Semitic Palistinian Authority in their stated purpose to have a “Jew free State.” But well before David Horowitz at Frontpage Mag described President Obama as an anti-Semite and Reverend John Hagee, President of Christians United For Israel, has confirmed the same analysis. (CUFI is my vehicle for support to Israel.) Yesterday radio talk host and author Mark Levin weighed in:

I’m going to tell you something and it’s going to be unconformable. I don’t care how many wealthy Jews Obama surrounds himself with, I don’t care how many wealthy Jews contribute to his campaign. This man has all the signals of an anti-Semite and I’m not going to take that word back. I believe this in my heart and my soul. It’s not about Israel, it’s about what’s in Israel.

Let’s review recent history. Tuesday, January 20, was Obama’s big night. He was in charge of a quiet world. He had won the war against “terrorism.” Republicans were to sit down and shut up. We were on a path to a “deal” with Iran. For all he said, Israel may not even exist.

But then it was Wednesday morning!

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker, John Boehner announced to the House Republican Conference he has invited Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress on February 11 (since rescheduled for March 3).

Bibi before Congress.1

“[T]oday I will announce that I am inviting the Prime Minister of Israel, a great friend of this country, to address a joint meeting of Congress next month. And I am specifically asking him to address Congress on the threats posed by radical Islam and Iran. America and Israel have always stood together in shared cause and common ideals, and now we must rise to the moment again. Let’s send a clear message to the White House – and the world – about our commitment to Israel and our allies.” Boehner told his fellow Republicans.

Coincidentally (?) my friend and American treasure Pamela Geller reprinted this incredibly insightful piece Wednesday:

This piece by J. Christian Adams is brief but revelatory: he exposes Obama’s assumptions that only American weakness, rather than American strength, can bring peace to the world, and his deeply ingrained antisemitism. I exposed both of these in my book The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War with America. It is good to see that others are awakening to this as well.

Netanyahu obama israel

“Iran, Obama and the Jewish Donor Lie,” by J. Christian Adams, PJ Tatler, January 22, 2015:

Cliff May has this important revelation in today’s Washington Times:

At a closed-door meeting of Senate Democrats in Baltimore last Thursday, Mr. Obama not only repeated his warning that even deadline-triggered sanctions would lead to war, he charged that those congressmen favoring such a bill were doing so only to please “donors.”

Sources told The New York Times that Mr. Menendez “stood up and said he took ‘personal offense.’” He added that he has been working on this issue for years, has always “focused on the long-term implications,” and that it will be impossible to cobble together a new sanctions bill quickly next summer should Iran continue to stonewall.

Let’s decode this revelation from behind closed doors.  First, it is newsworthy enough that Obama believes any sanctions package would “lead to war.”  This is more than posturing.  This is a reflection of Obama’s extremist pedigree on national security issues.  In college, Obama wrote campus newspaper attacks on the deployment of Pershing missiles in West Germany, because, you guessed it, it would lead to war.  A favorite meme of the radical national security left is that everything will lead to war.  If America detains terrorist warriors in Gitmo, it will lead to war with Islam.  If America has a robust military, it will lead to war.  If Israel doesn’t give up land for peace, it will lead to war.  And on and on it goes, the West should be surrender, compromise and stand down, else it leads to war.  Of course the history of the 20th Century is precisely the opposite.

But the second and bigger revelation is the revelation that Obama thinks support for sanctions on Iran is being driven by donor money.  To anyone who pays attention to the Islamist narrative, this means one and only one thing: Jewish money.

True, Obama doesn’t come out and explicitly use the term “Jewish money. ” But he isn’t talking about Hispanic money or Silicon Valley money when he scolds his fellow Democrats behind closed doors.  One of the many traditions the Islamists preserved from Nazi Germany (besides death worship and genocidal designs for the Jewish people) is the myth that Jewish money pulls the strings. This meme echoes through multimedia platforms throughout the Middle East.

Obama doesn’t say precisely the same thing with the same venomous zeal you find directly from these sources.  But his watered down accusation that Democrats like Bob Menendez is in favor of tough sanctions against Iran because of the influence of donor money should be condemned.  It also reveals a pedigree even more frightful than his pedigree merely supporting Western weakness.

Geller added this from The Israel Project.

Just wanted to make sure you have the facts about Iran, etc., since the President mentioned it in the speech tonight.

For over a year the admin has claimed, falsely, that Iran’s nuclear program has been “frozen” & their “progress halted” during the talks — talks we were told would only last 6 months, yet are now heading toward 19 months (June 30th).

FAR FROM being “halted”, during the negotiations, Iran has enriched at least one more bomb’s worth of material, has advanced its plutonium track to 87% completion, and just announced it will build 2 more nuclear facilities. Does that sound “frozen” to you?  Not to mention other facts that contradict WH claims.

Tonight the President has threatened, again, to veto bipartisan legislation from Menendez-Kirk by implying FALSELY that (1) it contains sanctions on Iran at this time and (2) will guarantee diplomacy will fail.

Those are ridiculous claims. First, the bill imposes no sanctions on Iran during talks what so ever. If there is a deal by 6/30 — a deadline the president set and says will tell us if Iran is willing to make a deal or not — there are no sanctions.

Second, it is totally counter-intuitive to suggest that Iran will walk away nuclear talks it desperately needs to save its broken economy because of some sanctions that will never come into being if there is an agreement — which they claim they want.

Like past dire claims — like central bank sanctions will drive the world into recession or oil prices will soar to $250 a barrel (yes they really said these things) these latest inexplicable claims are worthless and false.

48 HOURS IS ALL IT TAKES TO DESTROY A STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS AND A PHONY FOREIGN POLICY

Just two days ago in his 2015 State of the Union speech President Obama addressed foreign policy with attention to spots around the world. But he barely mentioned the threat to America and the world from terror not to mention radical Islam. There was no concern for a potential “Arab Winter.” There was no concern for Israel as a nation threatened as no other. There was no commendation for Egyptian President el-Sisi.

While Iran was discussed, it was mainly a threat the President directed at Republicans—and by extension—Israel. His Iranian policy was about to work just as he said his other “smart” policies were making the world safer, more peaceful and more stable.

48 hours later

The Times of Israel showed an Iranian missile some 90 feet tall just outside Tehran that could reach “far beyond Europe.”

Israeli channel 2 TV

It appears the Obama “smart diplomacy” is accommodating an Iran with plans to not only hit America with nuclear weapons in terrorist’s suitcases but also with ICBMs. Wow. You, or the President, might have hoped for a better result from “smart diplomacy” than learning Iran has long range missiles from Israeli TV.

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has died at 90 according to Saudi state TV and reported on Fox News at 8:00 pm Central time Thursday. His successor is his 79-year-old half-brother, Prince Salman, who recently has taken on the ailing Abdullah’s responsibilities. Fox News has already gotten an analysis of the gravity of this generally expected death:

A former American diplomat close to the Saudi royal family told Fox News the death of King Abdullah, coupled with the collapse of the government in Yemen, is a “worst case scenario” for the U.S. because current events are allowing Iran to extend its reach and influence in the region.

With the collapse of President Hadi’s government in Yemen, the former diplomat said Teheran’s influence is now seen in at least four Middle Eastern capitals – Sana’a in Yemen, Baghdad in Iraq, Damascus in Syria, and to a lesser extent in Beirut, Lebanon.

Golly if there is another Middle East earthquake, say Yemen as noted above, it will trigger a tsunami rolling right over all that successful “smart diplomacy.”

Now this! Gee Mr. President, it kind of took me by surprise too

Yemen

Yemen Falls

By MARIA ABI-HABIB and DION NISSENBAUM

Updated Jan. 22, 2015 7:34 p.m. ET

Yemen’s president and cabinet resigned on Thursday amid a standoff with a powerful anti-American militia, signaling deep uncertainty for U.S. counterterrorism strategy in the country and the future of a drone program in what has become a cornerstone of the global war on terror.

The resignations come a day after the Houthi militia and President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi signed a deal that would see the minority group withdraw from government and military infrastructure in exchange for greater political power.

After the deal was signed, however, the Houthis continued to occupy Yemen’s largest missile base in San’a and the president’s residence, while the group tried to overrun a military base and clashed with pro-government tribesmen in Marib province, which contains the country’s most significant oil infrastructure.

The Houthis represent the country’s Zaidi sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam. They have admitted to accepting Iranian arms and training in the past, although militia leaders insist they are an organic, national force.

The group said it would prepare a reaction to the resignations on Sunday, when Parliament meets. The response hinted that the militia recognizes that it will have a hard time running Yemen unilaterally, as a minority sect with much of the country out of its control.

With the world falling apart a mere 48 hours after President Obama took credit for a world practically at peace through his “smart diplomacy,” can someone come up with a move to bring us clarity and resolve?

Speaker Boehner?

A SCATHING DIRECT RESPONSE TO PRESIDENT OBAMA’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

Much of President Obama’s agenda is his State of the Union Address Tuesday night was based on the false principle of Fairness. The President addressed widening income inequality with a Tax increase proposal. Let us be clear, in truth the wealthy investor class experienced an enormous increase in their wealth under Obama’s policies while the middle class had about a 10% decrease in income. The poor grew by millions these past six years.

Furthermore the only real direct beneficiary of the Presidents tax proposal is the Federal government which would become larger and more powerful. Yes of course the President understands this. It is what he believes! He must also think he can fool most of us—perhaps especially the inner city poor.

Maybe not.

Rebelpundit, founded by Jeremy Segal and calling itself a beacon of truth, has another video featuring real folks from south Chicago giving their experience with the President’s policies. You don’t want to miss it. Watch it now:

WHAT A REAL—PATRIOTIC—PRESIDENT WOULD SAY IN A STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

The day before President Obama’s disgraceful State of the Union performance, David Azerrad, director of The Heritage Foundation’s B. Kenneth Simon Center for Principles and Politics, wrote What a Conservative President Would Say in State of the Union.

I encourage you to check it out at Heritage’s Daily Signal. For those not used to links, I have reproduced it here. Read it all!

On Tuesday, President Obama will deliver his penultimate state of the union address.

No doubt, many conservatives will be thinking of that glorious day in January 2017 when (they hope) a Republican president delivers his or her first state of the union address.

The new president would open his address by telling Americans that the time has come to realize that government is not the solution. “I don’t believe in bigger government,” he’ll announce. “Here in Washington, we’ve all seen how quickly good intentions can turn into broken promises and wasteful spending.”

He would remind Americans of the crushing burden of debt we’ve saddled our children with ($19 trillion by then). We have a “responsibility to ensure that we do not pass on to them a debt they cannot pay. That is critical.”

And so he would take on the third rail in American politics: entitlement reform (the projected shortfall for both programs will by then have cracked the $50 trillion mark). “To preserve our long-term fiscal health, we must also address the growing costs in Medicare and Social Security.”

Channeling his inner Ronald Reagan, the new president would pledge to “go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programs.” He would take on vested interests and speak out against cronyism. “We will restore a sense of fairness and balance to our tax code by finally ending the tax breaks.”

As a true conservative, the new president would also emphasize the indispensable role of the family. “In the end, there is no program or policy that can substitute for a parent, for a mother or father who will attend those parent-teacher conferences or help with homework or turn off the TV, put away the video games, read to their child. I speak to you not just as a president, but as a father, when I say that responsibility for our children’s education must begin at home.”

Looking at a dangerous world and the threats to American security, he would pledge to combat radical Islamism “because I will not allow terrorists to plot against the American people from safe havens halfway around the world.”

What a speech that would be.

There’s just one catch: that speech has already been given.

Every single one of these quotes comes from Obama’s firststate of the union address. While he did say other things in that address that revealed his progressive bent, all these statements would elicit roars of approval at any Tea Party rally.

This, of course, was the Obama of 2008: the post-partisan apostle of hope and the embodiment of the change we had been waiting for (never mind that he had the most liberal voting record of any senator). Over the past six years, the real Obama has gradually revealed himself and he is unquestionably a man of the Left.

It is nonetheless telling that early on in his career he felt the need to pay lip service to conservative ideals. America may not be as conservative as the right wishes it were, but it still is more conservative than the left would like it to be.

Ultimately, there was little hope that the proposals of Obama—or of any other president addressing Congress for that matter—would get enacted. The president, contrary to what the tone and tenor of modern state of the union addresses imply, is not a prime minister leading a legislative caucus.

Our Constitution clearly separates the legislative and executive branches of the federal government. The president may propose, but Congress is in no way bound to dispose. To state the obvious, the president cannot introduce legislation in Congress, much less pass it. And so Obama’s much touted “free community college plan” is dead in the water.

In this regard, the modern state of the union is deeply misleading. It gives the average citizen the impression that the president is at the helm of a unified state. Rather than lecture (and hector) the assembled members of Congress and the nine justice of the Supreme Court, it would be better to return to the Jeffersonian practice of submitting a written state of the union report.

In fact, in the age of the 24-hour news cycle, who needs a presidential sermon to determine the state of the union?
