WHERE ARE THE GOOD WISCONSIN TEACHERS?

Those at the Capitol in Madison Are Bad Teachers

Thousands of Wisconsin teachers have left their jobs and their duty. This is bad. Worse, they all appear with and many participate with SEIU and other union thugs, sent to Madison by the Thug in Chief himself. The vile vicious content of the signs they carry say it all. It is evil. Look Here for examples. Furthermore, many have taken training on intimidating thugery from the thugs.

No sane person could expect them to be good in the classroom. They will exhibit their contempt for their jobs, their students and their country. Schools in Wisconsin, like schools everwhere, should understand most parents will not want their children immersed in such virtue-less values.

What about the good teachers? Where are they? Are there good teachers in these schools? We must assume there are many good teachers there. I am willing to believe a majority of them are good. Here’s the question, can they be good by just doing or saying nothing —just by being there? They can’t. They have a responsibility to be difference makers. More directly, they are responsible for their part of America. Paraphrasing Ayn Rand, Pamela Geller says, “You can avoid evil, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding evil.” You recall the profound and famous Edmund Burke pronouncement, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Let me finish by going Christian. Jesus told us in His Sermon on the Mount:

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5”13-16)

Join me. Ask good teachers in government schools to take responsibility for their part of America. In Wisconsin, yes, but do it wherever you are. The issue is hot in Ohio and Indiana. We must understand this conflict between good and evil exists in every government school. Good teachers must step forward now.

Update: Two-Thirds of Wisconsin Public-School 8th Graders Can’t Read Proficiently—Despite Highest Per Pupil Spending in Midwest. Clear evidence of bad teahers.

DOES EGYPT HAVE ITS OWN AYATOLLAH RUHOLLAH KHOMEINI?

Yes, He Is Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi

A radical Islamist and recognized as one of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world

It is all over for Liberty in Egypt. Done. There may be a constitution and there may be an election but there will not be freedom in Egypt; there will be Shariah law. It took less than a month. Let’s lay down the timeline of events in Egypt.

January 25, 2011 —The beginning: On a national holiday to commemorate the police forces, Egyptians take to the streets in large numbers, calling it a “day of rage”.

January 26: Obama’s Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, tells reporters that the Egyptian government should “demonstrate its responsiveness to the people of Egypt” by recognizing their “universal rights.”

January 27: Protests continue across several cities. Mohamed ElBaradei, the former head of the “UN nuclear watchdog for the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) turned democracy advocate, arrives in Egypt to join the protests. ElBaradei says he is ready to “lead the transition” in Egypt if asked.

January 28: Facebook, Twitter and Blackberry Messenger services are disrupted.  According to the AP, an elite special counterterrorism force has been deployed at strategic points around Cairo in the hours before the planned protests. Egypt’s interior ministry warns of “decisive measures.”

January 29: In a speech delivered shortly after midnight, Mubarak announces that he has sacked the cabinet, but he himself refuses to step down. Egyptian soldiers secure Cairo’s famed antiquities museum, protecting thousands of priceless artifacts, including the gold mask of King Tutankhamun, from looters.

Thousands of anti-government protesters in Cairo’s Tahrir Square stand their ground, despite troops firing into the air in a bid to disperse them.

Mubarak appoints a vice-president for the first time during his three decades in power. The man now second-in-command is Omar Suleiman, the country’s former spy chief, who has been working closely with Mubarak during most of his reign.

January 30: Thousands of protesters remain in Cairo’s Tahrir Square. ElBaradei addresses the cheering protesters, saying “What we started can never be pushed back”.

By now, the Obama Administration, including the President, have been all over the map in public. I am very skeptical of what they might be doing in secret.

I write my first post on this uprising, Egypt, Iran and The Haj. For five days, virtually all TV and written coverage has been with the “freedom fighters” and for the overthrow of the Egyptian government. Then there will be democracy in Egypt, they declared. It was actually tough writing my post. No one is for freedom more than me. But everything I have learned, in the 32 years since the Carter Administration’s complicit covert support of the dark forces in Iran, compelled me to be very skeptical about this spontaneous uprising by “students.” So, I wrote”

“Egypt is a human powder keg and the fuse may already be lit.

“ Who can know if President Obama’s hard position towards Mubarak is the right path. In the first place, how can we know if the American “back channel” message towards Mubarak is really all that hard? Perhaps what we hear from the President is for consumption by the left here or Governments elsewhere.

“Let’s be clear, we have been here before. In 1979, we faced an Ayatollah led Muslim extremist uprising in Iran There was a hated, American backed strongman (the Shah) in Tehran. There was a failed President Carter in Washington. 32 years ago, Carter took a hard line: he knocked out the props; the Shah fell. In Iran, we have the —about to be nuclear— dictatorship of the Ayatollahs. Who can calculate the price the World and especially America has paid for Carter’s failure? The human misery and death suffered by the Iranian people is staggering.

“Could our current failed President be making the same mistake? Could a dictatorship of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt be as serious? No question, worse! The inevitable lost energy resources will bring the World to her knees. The hate and rage of the Arab Muslim world is about to explode. Who will come to Israel’s aid? Perhaps, not even the Obama-led American government. Israel can, and I would argue, will take out Cairo, Tehran, Beirut, and any other Arab Capital they find necessary —nuclear if necessary.

“Where will it stop? What’ll the Muslim populations in Europe do? What will Obama’s teleprompters do?”

Please read the rest.

January 31: Amidst growing calls for his resignation and pressure from Obama, Mubarak refuses to step down Protesters continue to defy the military-imposed curfew. About 250,000 people gather in Cairo’s Tahrir Square. Internet access across Egypt is still shoddy according to most reports.

Egypt’s new vice-president promises dialogue with opposition parties in order to push through constitutional reforms.

Former President, Israel hater and Hamas lover, Jimmy Carter calls the unrest in Egypt an “earth-shaking event”, and says he guesses Hosni Mubarak “will have to leave.”

Israel urges the world to tone down Mubarak criticism amid Egypt unrest to preserve stability in the region.

February 1: Hosni Mubarak announces in a televised address that he will not run for re-election but refuses to leave from office —the apparent central demand of the protesters.

I posted Taking Mubarak To Task noting Egypt is not ranked among the worst 20 human rights abusers, I wrote:

“Of course, the human conditions are terrible in Egypt. We are not for that. But is this devil we know, who kept a peace with Israel for more than 30 years, worse than the devil, we don’t know? American Secular Fundamentalist group, Code Pink is lending their support to overthrow the human rights abuser, Mubarak. (Keep in mind, this outfit sees G. W. Bush as similar to Mubarak but thinks Cuba is paradise.)

“We will have the Muslim Brotherhood if the demonstrators (with help from the Obama regime?) topple Mubarak. Who or what is the Muslim Brotherhood? They are the fountainhead of Hamas and the Sunni terrorist organizations (alQaida). America’s principal Muslim organizations (CAIR) all are committed to the Muslim Brotherhood.

“Here is their creed:

‘Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.’”

Moreover I could not find a Samuel Adams or Patrick Henry in this uprising.

February 2: More demonstrations against President Hosni Mubarak’s regime. The army is still deployed with tanks throughout different positions in and around Tahrir Square.

Google improves its “speak2tweet” technology for the people in Egypt.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Boston entrepreneur Hadid Habbab has called for volunteers to help find his missing friend, Google executive Wael Ghonim, who went missing during the protests of the past week.

I missed the Google and Wael Ghonim facts. Had I seen them, I would not have known their profound significance —but, that later.

I posted Once Again, Mr. President, a video of new Congressman Allen West concisely laying out lesson #1 on Islam in under 2 minutes. Of course, the President knows the lesson; he just doesn’t care. But you care; please view it now.

I also posted Egypt From The Inside; I wrote:

“We get news of the Egyptian crisis from CNN, AP, Fox or some other news gatherer. We get analysis from an array of fools or, on occasion, from wise men such as John Bolton. President Obama has rarely seemed so clueless. What follows is this rare and opportunity, “The Story From the Inside.”  Clarice Feldman is a regular contributor at The American Thinker. Through a colleague, she brings an incredible story from an Egyptian student, Sam Tadros. Sam writes:

‘One week ago, Egypt was a stable authoritarian regime, prospects of change were minimal and every expert in Washington would have betted on the endurance of its regime. Today, Egypt is in a state of chaos. The regime, even after using its mightiest sword is not able to control the country and the streets of Egypt are in a state of utter lawlessness. As the world stands in awe, confusion, and worry at the unfolding events, perhaps it is important to write the evolving story that is happening in Egypt before any reflections can be made on them.’”

Even now —no, not even now but, rather, more importantly now, we need to soak in Sam’s testimony. Read it all here.

February 3: Gunfire aimed at demonstrators in Tahrir Square, leave at least five people dead and several more wounded, according to reports from Cairo. Mubarak still in town.

February 4: Friday, the Muslim day of prayer, seems like the largest crowd of anti-government protesters, perhaps hundreds of thousands, gather in Cairo’s Tahrir Square for what they have termed the “Day of Departure.” Mubarak is still in town.

February 5: Thousands remain inside Tahrir Square. Reuters quotes Egyptian state TV as saying “terrorists” have targeted an Israel-Egypt gas pipeline in northern Sinai.

February 6:  Banks officially re-open for 3.5 hours, and traffic police are back on the streets in Cairo, in attempts to get the capital to start returning to normal. Protests continue in Tahrir Square; there are reports of gunshots fired by the army into the air near the cordon set up inside the barricades, near the Egyptian museum.

Reports say Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, spoke with Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq (on February 5), emphasizing the need to ensure the legitimate aspirations of the Egyptian people are met and stressing that incidents of harassment and detention of activists and journalists must stop.

While there were a number of cases of detention of journalists, the overwhelming issue for journalists was abuse and attacks from demonstrators —as we now know.

I posted Understanding Egypt: What do the Saudis, Syrians and Others Think?

We naturally see events in Egypt in the light of the American or Israeli national interest. Let’s set aside the Turks and the Persians. How does Egypt affect the Arab World? Egypt alone is one third of the Arab population. The turmoil in Egypt is terrifying to the Arab governments. Once again my friend, Amil Imani, has the background and knowledge to sort it out. In his piece Friday in The American Thinker, Islam On A Collision Course, Amil provides some clarity and understanding.

February 7: Thousands camp out in Tahrir Square, refusing to leave. While banks have reopened, schools and the stock exchange remain closed.

Egypt’s government approve a 15 per cent raise in salaries and pensions in a bid to win over the people.

Wael Ghonim, a Google executive and political activist arrested by state authorities, is released; some see him as a potential figurehead for the pro-democracy camp. Along with much of this post, I gathered this after the fact. Stay with me on this guy for a few more days, I’ll explain below.

February 8: Protesters continue to gather at Tahrir Square, which now resembles a tented camp. Protesters in the capital also gather to protest outside parliament.

The city sees possibly the biggest crowd of demonstrators, including Egyptians who have returned from abroad and other newcomers mobilized by the release of Google’s activist Wael Ghonim.

I post Darkness and Light —Shariah and Liberty. This post is not so much about the current events in Egypt as it is about getting the American mind around a mindset completely foreign to any of our thinking or experience. Here is part of what I wrote:

“Islam has not been hijacked by extremists. Informed by Judeo-Christian teaching and experience, we can only conclude, Islam is extreme. You and I (and Kristol and Lowery) must understand that wherever Islam prevails, Shariah is the Law.

“The present government of Egypt claims to be secular and not Shariah. But understand this, more than 80% of Egyptian women have been mutilated sexually (cliterectomy) in compliance with Shariah Law. Most of those women (and girls) live in slavery. Free elections will not change that. A current poll reveals 84% of Egyptians believe an apostate (leaving Islam for another belief) must be punished by death —again, Shariah Law. Keep in mind about 10% of Egyptians are Coptic Christians.

“What about Muslims in the United States? With few exceptions, wherever Muslim Mosques exist here, Shariah informs their home life. Women and girls are beaten. Of course non-Muslim women (and occasionally, men) are beaten here, but that is not mandated by Religion or law. Of course our legal code does not include Shariah, but regularly now, Shariah is offered as a partial defense in criminal cases.”

This post contains persuasive evidence supporting the above statements and much more. I hope you go there and read or re-read it all.

February 9: Protests continue with seemingly broadening support. Ahmed Aboul Ghiet, Egypt’s foreign minister, tells al-Arabiya network on Wednesday that the Egyptian army could step in to “protect the country from an attempt by some adventurers to take power”.

Aboul Ghiet tells PBS that he is “infuriated” by the US’s initial response to the unrest in the country, and that he finds the Obama administration’s advice on political transition “not at all” helpful.”

February 10: Protesters in Tahrir Square react with fury when Mubarak says he’s remaining in power until September. Protesters wave their shoes in the air, and demand the army join them in revolt.

February 11:  After tens of thousands people take to the streets across Egypt in angry protests, Hosni Mubarak Resigns and hands over power to the army. The announcement is made by Omar Suleiman, the vice-president. Celebrations begin in Cairo’s streets.

February 12: People celebrate in Tahrir Square until early morning. Pro-democracy protesters start to clean the square. The country’s new military rulers promise to hand power to an elected, civilian government and pledged that Egypt will remain committed to all international treaties, clearly meaning its 1979 peace treaty with Israel.

Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi makes (with a forked tongue) a moderate statement about the celebrants in Egypt winning their freedom.

I posted, Democracy In Egypt? Here’s what I said:

What I Heard In Fridays News

Mubarak resigned and left. People in the Cairo streets are rejoicing. They have been pronounced free by reporters. “There will be free and fair elections.” “The Egyptian people will determine their own destiny.” “Egypt will have Democracy!” After all, “every person longs to be free.”

Really?

What I Know

Mubarak apparently left office. People in the Cairo streets are rejoicing.

The rest is hogwash. Egyptians are no more free today than they were Thursday. Will there be elections? Likely. Will the elections be free? Possibly. Will they be fair? Someone (Obama or the UN) could dispatch Jimmy Carter to observe and declare them fair.

Will Egypt have Democracy? We live in a world where most tyrannies are called democracy. Even the Soviets and Saddam had elections. The Iranians have elections. There are elections in Pakistan. Democracy has not, does not and cannot produce Liberty.

The American forefathers got it right, Liberty is an endowment from our Creator; the Judeo-Christian God. It is a gift given to every single human being. Leviticus 25:10 says: “. . . proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all the inhabitants thereof.” Jesus is the only Light of the world.” In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus tells us:

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Christians believe Jesus gave every single person the gift of Liberty at the cross. Liberty in us, through Jesus, is the light of the world. Tyrant and dictators, like Castro, restrict and smother that light. Even in America, the shining city on a hill, busy (liberal) beavers work to trim the “wick” of your lamp through regulation.

Islam rejects, despises, disdains, scorns and refutes Liberty. Islam, through Shariah, smothers the light until the Muslim world lives in darkness. Egypt is an Islamic country. 10% of Egyptians are Coptic Christians. They don’t count. 84% of Egyptians say they want Shariah law. Only 6% of Egyptian Muslims want a secular government.

Figure it out yourself. This is a sad day. Egypt is headed for darkness. They may be celebrating freedom in today’s light but the sad choking hopeless darkness of Shariah is coming for Egyptians; both Christians and Muslims. Could the American government have guided a different outcome? We’ll never know. They didn’t even try.

February 17: Banned Qaradawi returns to lead Friday prayers in Egypt. The hope of western dreamers has evaporated in a week. The “democratic revolution” is over.

February 18, 2011: An estimated crowd of more than a million heard Qaradawi at Tihrir Square. I do not have the text yet,  MEMRI is still translating it. The only source I found trustworthy is called, Pipeline News. Here’s what they got from MEMRI:

“Al-Qaradawi asked the Egyptian army to open wide the Rafah crossing and to pray for the re-conquest of Jerusalem by the Muslims, so that he and the Muslims could pray in security at Al-Aqsa Mosque. This part of his sermon was cheered and applauded by the crowd….”

Google man, Wael Ghonim, was there to address the throng but he was turned away by al-Qaradawi’s men —so much for Democracy and free speech. But, how is a Google man involved? He is the individual who organized the “spontaneous” uprising. Yes, I said organized. It was planned and organized. By January 25, a date Ghonim chose, he had 400,000 followers on Facebook.

Word is that Ghonim is a secret member of the Muslim Brotherhood. I can’t confirm it and doubt it. If he is MB, wouldn’t he have been part of the al-Qaradawi operation? We’ll learn much more about this in the coming days. Watch for more on how Google itself was involved. If it goes beyond Ghonim, does it go to the White House? How much of this does Israel know?

CIVILITY IN OBAMA’S THUGOCRACY

Another Thug Government?

The people of Wisconsin chose a large and also healthy change of direction for their State in the 2010 election. That change, as we all saw Thursday, is already underway (that in another post). However the Obama Thugocracy has a different idea —assault—look.

Thugocracy? Yes it consists of labor unions, most big media, the Democrat party, government bureaucracy and any branch of government controlled by democrats. (See a comprehensive list below.) The number one thug in 2011 is President Obama. While Thug-Obama charges the Wisconsin government with “assault on unions . . .—our hard working neighbors,” the Thugocrat Party, via its subsidiary Organizing For America, has bussed thugs into Madison to define “civility” as practiced by Thugocrats. Take a look at Thugocrat civility in Madison:

Obviously an English teacher.

Secular Fundamentalist Thugocracy otherwise called a Madison Wisconsin teacher

They are absolutely predictable. If it was not so serious, it would be funny.

Bussed in from Thugocrat Organizing for America?

There you are, civility as requested by the Thug in Chief at a “Memorial Service” in Tucson, Arizona, this past January 12, complete with crosshair on the head of a person not a Congressional District. Unbelievable!

(H/T hotair.com via Power Line)

Last November, seeing the Obama Administration as grabbing the fruits of patriotic American’s pursuit of happiness to line the coffers of Democrat special interests, I started a Vested Interest List. The work was easy. Dan Freeman’s article, “The new Axis of Evil,” had everything I needed for the list, Dan’s “dirty dozen.” Events —total emergence of Obama Thugocracy— have overrun any need for a Vested Interest List. But Dan’s article is more pertinent today than ever. We are used to mandates in the Thugocracy so just “mandate yourself” to read The New Axis of Evil Now. Notice the many elements of Dan’s Dirty Dozen that are involved in the Wisconsin civility:

  1. Old Media (ACB, CBS, CNN, NBC, NPR, NY Times)
  2. Engorged Public Unions (SEIU, NEA, AFSCME)
  3. Global Socialist Elites (Robert McChesney, Andy Stern, George Soros)
  4. Liberal “Think” Tanks (Media Matters, Center for American Progress, ThinkProgress)
  5. America Hating Academics (Noam Chomsky, Paul Krugman )
  6. Professional Victims Groups (La Raza, CAIR, NAACP, NOW)
  7. Community Disorganizers & Activists (ACORN, Code Pink, ACLU)
  8. Environmental Redistributionists (Greenpeace, EDF)
  9. Social Justice Preachers (Jeremiah Wright, Reverend Jim Wallis)

10.  Progressive Hollywood Elites (Oliver Stone, Sean Penn)

11.  Bloated Federal Bureaucracy (DOE, DOA, TSA)

12.  Public/Private Colluders (AAPR, Government Motors, Goldman Sachs)

I now use the term, “Secular Fundamentalist” to describe this crowd, Mr. Freeman uses “The New Axis of Evil.” Use either term or coin your own, the important thing is to clearly understand what “fundamentally transform” means and how far the Thugocracy has come in two years to take America from Liberty to darkness.

THE MIDDLE EAST, ARMAGEDDON?

Hyperbole? Perhaps, But Then Again . . .

Look at the headlines for the last couple days:

  • Feb 16, 2011: CBS reporter attacked, sexually assaulted in Egypt
  • Feb 17, 2011: Egypt: Islamist judge to head new constitution committee
  • Feb 16, 2011: Israel claims Iran warships to transit Suez
  • Feb 17, 2011: Demonstrations In Iran
  • Feb 16, 2011: Obama Regime Rebuke of Israel CBS reporter

CBS reporter: You likely know Lara Logan, CBS News’ chief foreign affairs correspondent, was beaten and raped in Cairo last Friday. Oh, you hadn’t heard “raped?” Right, she was merely “assaulted.” That is one of the reasons we’re writing about it here. The dirty story, before it was cleaned up to “assault,” is she was severely beaten and repeatedly raped. Reason number two is, gee, I thought that crowd in the Cairo streets were only freedom seeking people celebrating the demise of their oppressor. At least 140 correspondents were injured or killed by the freedom loving gangs. Let’s declare that fairy tale permanently buried. And finally, did you notice CBS didn’t report the story? After others reported it, CBS released their terse statement, “assault.” Pitiful but no surprise. Like all mainstream media, for CBS, the story line trumps the facts even when their own people are attacked.

Islamist judge: Egypt’s military rulers have appointed an Islamist judge to chair the committee to write a new Egyptian constitution. Wael Abbas, the best-known human rights blogger in Egypt, who was sentenced to prison by the Mubarak regime last year, said it was a “worrying” choice. “There is no such thing as a moderate Islamist,” he said. “We want a secular state that respects all religions and which belongs to all religions.”

My instincts have been right on target from the beginning in the disintegration of Egypt. You have to think the Obama Regime wanted Egypt to fall under Islamic rule. Many of us were certain Egypt would be headed for Islamic rule. No one could guess it would move this fast.

Iran warships to Suez Canal: The word, as I write, is that the ships have not entered the canal and Egyptian authorities say they are not scheduled through Friday. They are clearly testing Obama. If he is as weak as the Iranians (and I) think, they’ll learn it in the next days and head on through to the Mediterranean and at the coast of Israel.

Demonstrations In Iran: They have been demonstrating for a week. They have been tear gassed, they have been arrested and at least eight have been killed. These partiots are the real deal. My view is the ruling Mullahs and the regime in Teheran will put them down brutally and no one will come to their side. Expect Obama to continue voice support for these freedom fighters. The Iranians understand this American President can be counted on to, in this case, speak loudly and carry no stick at all. There are dozens of ways America could lend material support to these Iranian fighters; Obama will not.

Obama Regime Rebuke of Israel: Sad, outrageous, disgusting and more is the least we can say as the Obama Regime notified Arab countries and the United Nations we will not back Israel in the Security Council. The U.S. will support a Security Council Resolution condemning Israel for “settlement activity.” The action continues a consistent record by this regime of undercutting America’s friends —especially Israel. I’d say the Armageddon pot is very close to the boiling point but, you decide.

A ONE YEAR JOURNEY: WEST AT CPAC 2011

Can We Restore America? Congressman West Will Accept No Other Result.

The Nation Was Introduced to Retired Lt. Colonial Allen West at CPAC 2010. He was running a second time to defeat Congressman Ron Klein is Florida’s liberal 22nd District.

I had been following Col. West for nearly a year through his newsletter, The West Report. I was astonished as I saw the power, purpose, vision, clarity and character of this good American patriot throughout his speech.

Col. West was the second candidate featured in my DAILY CALL email distribution and The Liberty List online. Congressman West easily defeated Klein in the 2010 election. He is one of two black Republicans elected to the House in modern times. (The other is Liberty Lister Tim Scott from South Carolina.)

Col West has journeyed from his introduction at CPAC 2010, in just one year, to closing the 2011 CPAC with this powerful declaration that we will restore America. He really does not see any road except the road to restoration and he is moving. After you watch Col. West’s inspiring remarks, bookmark this so, whenever you have someone falter, they need only watch or re-watch this.

TRUTH TO POWER

David Horowitz Is the Living Definition of, “In the Arena.”

David Horowitz spoke at CPAC 2011, Saturday. It was a clarion call to arms. It was the prototype of what we all need to say and write and do in the coming months and years.

First, a little background on Mr. Horowitz:

Islam has been at Jihad against the Christian West for at least 1370 years. Marxism has been around since 1849. Both are sustaining forces intent on the destruction of Liberty. Because America and human freedom is clearly in dire jeopardy, you and I have come to the battle for Liberty in these last days. Horowitz was born in 1939 to Communist activist parents. As a “red diaper baby,” he has been in the battle his entire life. In the 1960s and 70s, he was a highly effective leader of the very radical left and gave support to parts of the violent left.

It was the 1974 murder of a close associate by the violent Black Panther Party that caused nagging questions about the left for Horowitz. By 1980 the leftist house of cards was down but it took until 1987 before he made his public declaration leaving the darkness and living in the light of truth. David kept right on in his same disciplined effective manner —in the arena only now, he was the champion for Liberty.

CPAC is by far the largest most intensely covered annual conservative conference. It is not the most important. Restoration Weekend, created, founded and operated by David Horowitz, is the most important. Go there.

There were terrific “keynote” speeches by many “prospects” for president at this year’s CPAC. There was much more but not so highly covered. In separate posts, I will cover three critically important speeches starting today with the Horowitz marching orders.

  • Our country faces challenges to its very existence from forces secular and religious.
  • You cannot make men equal without taking away their freedom.
  • Government is destructive and hurts the people it is intended to serve.
  • We face a mortal threat at home and abroad from Political Islam; a totalitarian movement that seeks to impose Shariah law everywhere.
  • Both the Marxist left and Islam use the same strategies and tactics.
  • Recounts Muslim Brotherhood success to date; Names Grover Norquist as one of the dupes of MB on the right.
  • MB front groups have people in key positions the Obama administration including DHS.

Follow this modern day Patrick Henry in every way you can and seriously consider attending the 2011 Restoration Weekend this fall.

DARKNESS AND LIGHT — SHARIAH AND LIBERTY

The Time Is Now To Write Bluntly; To Break Open Barriers Of Multiculturalism, Diversity; And Much More.

Glenn Beck is right; Bill Kristol is wrong; so is Rich Lowery.

Though I generally do not listen to or watch Beck, I know what he is saying. He studies. He is right. Kristol wrote a column in the online Weekly Standard excoriating Beck for misrepresenting the violence in Egypt. After all, “Muslims just want democracy,” goes the Politically Correct line. Lowery agreed at NRO. This is bigger than Kristol, Lowery or Beck.

First clarity about me:

My World View is Bible Based. I actually believe the first chapter of the Bible —and the third and the twenty second chapter as well. I believe Exodus, chapter 20 and Deuteronomy, chapter 6. I believe the Twenty Third and the Fifty First Psalm. I believe the first chapter of Proverbs. I believe Isaiah: chapters 5, 7, 9 and 53. I believe the Gospel of John and The Acts of the Apostles. If you know the Holy Bible, you’ll understand the particular picture these selections paint. If you are not really familiar with the Judeo-Christian Scripture, please accept that I believe the Bible and it informs my understanding of everything. This includes confidence that the high ground is with Liberty —not Shariah.

First Tunisia; then Egypt, right? No. This turmoil has been going on for 1390 years. In those 14 centuries, the creed of the Muslim Brotherhood represents the core teaching of Islam from the beginning in 610 A.D. Every American must be familiar with and understand their creed. It is:

“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

Shariah is represented in every phrase. Jihad is our way, they say. Chances are you had not heard of Jihad before September 11, 2001. Actually the first Jihad began in 622 A.D. against the Arabs. The Persians were next. There has always been violent Jihad since 622. Some Jihads are missing here but this is a continuous list:  The Jihad against Zoroastrian Persians of modern day Iran, Baluchistan and Afghanistan (634 to 651),

The Jihad against the Byzantine Christians (634 to 1453), The Jihad against Christian Coptic Egyptians (640 to 655), The Jihad against Christian Coptic Nubians – modern Sudanese (650), The Jihad against pagan Berbers – North Africans (650 to 700), The Jihad against Spaniards (711 to 730), The Reconquista against Jihad in Spain (730 to 1492), The Jihad against Franks – modern French (720 to 732), The Jihad against Sicilians in Italy (812 to 940), The Jihad against Chinese (751), The Jihad against Turks (651 to 751), The Jihad against Armenians and Georgians (1071 to 1920)

The Jihad against Mongols (1260 to 1300), The Jihad against Hindus of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh (638 to 1857), The Jihad against Indonesians and Malays (1450 to 1500), The Jihad against Poland (1444 to 1699), The Jihad against Rumania (1350 to 1699), The Jihad against Russia (1500 to 1853), The Jihad against Bulgaria (1350 to 1843), The Jihad against Serbs, Croats and Albanians (1334 to 1920), The Jihad against Greeks (1450 to 1853)

The Jihad against Albania (1332 – 1853), The Jihad against Croatia (1389 to 1843), The Jihad against Hungarians (1500 to 1683), The Jihad against Austria (1500 – 1683), The Jihad against Germany (1529 – ongoing), Jihad in the Modern Age (20th and 21st Centuries), The Jihad against Israelis (1948 – 2004 ongoing), The Jihad against Americans (1979), The Jihad against the Filipinos in Mindanao(1970 onwards), The Jihad against Indonesian Christians in Malaku and East Timor (1970 onwards), The Global Jihad today (2001 – ongoing)

Islam has not been hijacked by extremists. Informed by Judeo-Christian teaching and experience, we can only conclude, Islam is extreme. You and I (and Kristol and Lowery) must understand that wherever Islam prevails, Shariah is the Law.

The present government of Egypt claims to be secular and not Shariah.

What about Muslims in the United States? With few exceptions, wherever Muslim Mosques exist here, Shariah informs their home life. Women and girls are beaten. Of course non-Muslim women (and occasionally, men) are beaten here, but that is not mandated by Religion or Law. Of course our legal code does not include Shariah, but regularly now, Shariah is offered as a partial defense in criminal cases.

What’s the point of including Shariah and Liberty together? They are polar opposite forces. Islam (Shariah), while not the only, is the most completely articulated system of darkness in the world.  Liberty (there is no plural form) is the very essence of the light of the Christian gospel. Remember, I named Isaiah (5:20):

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that count darkness as light, and light as darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight.”

Jefferson, reflecting the common understanding of his time, wrote correctly that Liberty is an unalienable right. When Jefferson wrote, “endowed by their creator,” he actually declared Liberty a gift from God. As a Christian, I believe our Liberty and other unalienable gifts were purchased at the cross. Again, as a Christian, I see freedom from sin as the first expression of that gift. But the God of light for Jews and Christians directed us to “Proclaim Liberty throughout the land.”

What about democracy? Do free elections bring freedom? I know, we agree; a majority of despots, tyrants and dictators hold elections. While we all want free and fair elections, as a synonym for freedom, democracy is a fraud. And our plate is full. Secular Fundamentalists are working hard to “fundamentally transform” us as well.

If Beck is right and if what you have read here is true, (and it is) what is it with Kristol and Lowery? I don’t know. It could be they are determined to be Political Correctly ignorant.  But it is also tough to live in Washington and vary from the template imposed by the “Company Town.” Democrat driven Big Government is the Company, It is tough as the Editor-in-Chief of a conservative periodical to go to parties and face ridicule over the likes of Beck. If toeing the “Company Town” line is the force, it is there for every Conservative writer or Senator or staffer in Washington—not just Kristol and Lowery.

Check Beck out. Or, check my book list on Islam HERE.

CELEBRATING RONALD REAGAN AND AMERICA

We Join Hundreds of Millions Across The World In Celebrating President Ronald Reagan

The Reagan Legacy In Three Lines

  • President Reagan restored America’s confidence.
  • President Reagan restored America’s economy.
  • President Reagan led the free world; defeated the Soviet Empire

That ain’t bad. I am no longer alone. Others (many quite famous and respected) have now joined me in ranking President Reagan number three among the 43 men who held America’s 44 presidencies. Ironically, the two I have ahead of the Gipper also were born in February.

TV, Radio, Internet, Video —yes but books are the best.

You will be blessed and, perhaps, more effective in the challenging years ahead if you study this life. I heartily Recommend these four books from my library :

The Age of Reagan: The Fall of the Old Liberal Order 1964 – 1980 (Volume I) by Steven F. Hayward

The Age of Reagan: The Conservative Counterrevolution 1980 – 1989 (Volume II) by Steven F. Hayward

On the Brink: The Dramatic Behind-the-Scenes Saga of the Reagan Era and the Men and Women Who Won the Cold War by jay Winik

Reagan In His Own Hand: The Writings of Ronald Reagan That Reveal His Vision for America Edited by Kiron K. Skinner, Annelise Anderson and Martin Anderson

These four Reagan quotes, like the pictures in this post, sum up a great American leader.

“Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” (1/20/81)

“Above all, we must realize that no arsenal or no weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.” (1/20/81)

“[G]overnment’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” (8/15/86)

Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” (Brandenburg Gate, 6/12/87)

If  we had only one memory of President Reagan, it should be his 1964 speech, “A Time For Choosing.” When you watch it, be aware that, while he gave it more than 46 years ago, it is exactly the message we need for today. Today truly is a time for choosing.

You may know Governor Palin gave an address honoring President Ronald Reagan to the Young America’s Foundation Friday night. Go ahead and watch/hear her apply Reagan’s formula to our times.

UNDERSTANDING EGYPT

What Do The Saudis, Syrians And Others Think?

We naturally see events in Egypt in the light of the American or Israeli national interest. Let’s set aside the Turks and the Persians. How does Egypt affect the Arab World? Egypt alone is one third of the Arab population. If Order is turned upside down in Tunisia, the Saudis and Syrians can handle that. But Egypt is quite another matter. Paehaps n ot so much the Israelis, but you and I can sleep at night. Make no mistake,

the turmoil in Egypt is terrifying to the Arab governments. Once again my friend, Amil Imani, has the background and knowledge to sort it out. In his piece Friday in The American Thinker, Islam On A Collision Course, Amil provides some clarity and understanding:

When he was asked why the vast majority of Egyptians, the heirs to a great pre-Islamic civilization, speak Arabic rather than Coptic, a leading Egyptian historian replied, “Because we had no Ferdowsi.”  That would be the tenth-century Persian poet and the author of the Shahnameh (Book of Kings) who revived not only the Persian language, but also Persian identity.  Ferdowsi is known for his efforts to save the Persian language, and the history, from oblivion.  It has been suggested that Ferdowsi is Iran’s Homer:

Twice as long as Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey taken together, the Shahnameh blends Iran’s ancient myths and legends with accounts of major events in its past. Its 55,000 rhyming couplets chart the history of the Iranian world from its creation to the fall of the Persian Empire in the seventh century.

The cruel, successful subjugation of the Persian people by the Arab invaders whetted the latter’s appetite for further conquests.  They ventured elsewhere into the civilized world — to Egypt, Syria, the Levant, Spain, and eventually to the gates of Vienna.  Cruelty and terror were their instruments of policy.

Out of all the peoples conquered by the Arab invasion in the seventh century, the Persians are the only one who can boast of a major body of literature in the indigenous language that they were using before the conquest.  The Persian language, culture, and traditions have been Iranians’ shields against the Muslim hordes and their barbaric Islamic ideology for the past 1,400 years. . . .

. . . The enumeration of the influences of Iranian civilization on world cultures is not the primary objective of this author and is out of the scope of the present article.  It is important, however, to demonstrate the salient point of how Islam has been on a collision course with great ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Persia, and many more from its inception up to now.  Just as it brutally conquered and bitterly stifled one of the fountainheads of progress in ancient times, Islam remains a very real threat to Western civilization and to any progressive civil society in the 21st century.  It is virulently capable of great destruction and retardation of minds, as we have seen in the past three decades in Iran and elsewhere.  Any and all enlightened citizens of this planet who care about freedom, human rights, and progress should take this clear and present danger very seriously.

Got that? “It is virulently capable of great destruction and retardation of minds[.]” and “Any. . . who care about freedom, human rights, and progress should take this clear and present danger very seriously.” I urge you, do not miss a word. Get it all here.
